They try to sell you on the fact that "you'll be able to vacation for life" at their high end resorts located throughout the world. They only show you a few select resorts because 95% of them are outdated and grungy. A typical holiday inn is by far a better choice than most of their options which are of motel quality. They claim that if you become a "owner" you'll save money on vacations in the long run but this is not accurate as their point value vs dollar value is exponentially disparate. SCAM ALERT!!! These people are the worst. I was contacted by their telemarketing department and purchased a vacation. They said they would send me a package in the mail to approve the vacation or cancel within 10 days of receipt. Never received anything in the mail and after 4 follow up calls still have received nothing. They said they sent it and emailed me, even though Jay H**** manager extraordinaire admitted that they had the wrong email on file. Don't buy Diamond Resort International Points! Once you buy it, there is no way out. All the brokers don't want to sell DRI points when you need to sell it. DRI staff told can't give any info about selling it back due to conflicts of interest. Please don't believe whatever sales staff say in the presentation! Stay away from Diamond Resort International Points.

After being sold on a timeshare idea of being able to go to hundreds of resorts in their "club", we find that there are only a few resorts that ever have any openings and others that are so outrageously expensive you could buy a house in place of the cost one week would be. If you want to take advantage of other resorts in the "club" you have to go to another site and end up paying a substantial amount more money on top of the purchase price and the ever increasing "maintenance" fee that seems to go up by 10-15% each year. I was called by a third party sales company with a vacation deal of $139 for 4 days 3 nights, a $50 gift card, and a cruise. The sales associate said I would receive a confirmation email in 20 minutes, that never happened. I called DR 2 days later and was told they didn't know why i didn't receive the email, and they would send it to me immediately, that never happened. Sales representatives at Sedona, AZ location are a joke. They utilize these sales tactics that are easily recognized, that can only be described as ridiculous. My girlfriend and I almost began to laugh because they were so low-down and sleezy. It was our first time doing one of these promotional presentations to get a cheap room. I had been warned to never do these things but the rate to stay in Sedona for a night was too good for me to pass up. 3years and they still can't manage to complete a transfer of ownership!! Incompetence, apathy, and general lack of interest on their staff's part. Oh they cashed the check for the transfer fee and didn't waste any time sending out a foreclosure notice. My folks thought they were doing us a favor by purchasing at **** ****** but they weren't aware that a once great resort would become nothing more than a dingy, overbooked hotel. Caveat emptor folks, caveat emptor!!

Customer service is awful with DR. I was deceived into making a future reservation because it seemed like a great deal in which I received a "$100 gift card". The salesman assured me that although the deal was only valid for 1 year, if I were to contact Diamond Resorts they would always extend the deal. He also said that I could use my reservation in countries outside of the U.S. for an upcharge. These were lies. I recently called to book my time share for a week in Orlando. Called x 2 and talked with employees who stated they would get back to me. Never happened...... until I called and talked to Fianna B**** Fianna went above and beyond to help me. She called me x 2 to follow up and confirm my rental week. I have had mostly negative encounters with Diamond Resorts but Fianna was amazing.
