I used a KeyMe kiosk and initially it was a good quick service. Most recently I had 2 interactions and I have completely changed my mind. Absolute rubbish. I highly recommend you don’t use this service as it’s terrible. It takes forever and the kiosk technology is garbage. There was a message saying the kiosk couldn’t copy certain keys because they are not common and I would be sent them. I have been waiting and only one of several keys were delivered. I had to call customer service where I encounters an agent (Kaylee I thin... read more

We appreciate this customer's review, and have forwarded this feedback to our product team. While our kiosks are typically more accurate than traditional locksmiths, there are cases in which they require maintenance to meet our quality standards. We've submitted this kiosk for recalibration following *** ******feedback.
Make sure your key actually is a transponder key! As far as I could tell from an Internet search, the used car I bought (2007 Hyundai Santa Fe) has a transponder key. ******* and ****** said they couldn't duplicate my key, and dealers usually charge ridiculous prices, so I used a KeyMe kiosk. I found a 25% off discount code on the Internet, and the kiosk offered me a 50% discount on a second key. Total, I paid about $42 for two keys. I thought I got a good deal... until I received my new keys today, and found that they are p... read more
Business response:
We regret that this customer believes our pricing structure to be unfair. The $20 range is typical for our plain metal, non-transponder keys, and is based off the price we pay for the key blank, as well as the labor of cutting the key. Our transponder keys are priced closer to the $100 range. We appreciate *** ********* feedback, and it has been forwarded to the appropriate parties internally.
Had key made for car. They were late, charged way too much, did not get what I paid for, was charged more money to get the old key working again in the car.
Business response:
We're sorry that *** ***** had this experience after calling us. In markets where we do not offer direct locksmith coverage, we offer the option to connect the customer with a local locksmith to complete their job via a third party dispatch center. In cases like these, we have limited control over the price of the work. We have forwarded this feedback to our partner for review.
I called for a back door that wouldn't lock. I was told $29 for service call and they would call me for payment since I wasn't going to be present at the property, it's tenant occupied. My tenant then called to tell me I needed an authorization form that I filled out online and I guess my husband called in as well. He arrived late but gave notice. Service tech fist called to say it's a very expensive 3 point lock even prior to taking it apart and it will cost $850 to repair. NO break down of parts and labor so I refused serv... read more

We are sorry that *** *****had such a poor experience after calling us. She has also emailed, and we are currently working to figure out which of our partners may have provided her service, so we can follow up with them appropriately.
DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! I was aware of the 30 dollar travel charge in which I didn’t get to say I even wanted the locksmith service. I had asked for a quote and was told $19-200 and the locksmith would have an exact quote. The locksmith got there and began services, I had asked for a quote before he began he told I would be worked with. I was charged $150+16 for credit card. I didn’t even get the chance to decline services. Texas had just had a winter freeze no water, electricity, and min food for 4 days. I had emailed tel... read more

We are truly sorry for this customer's poor experience with our third party partner. In areas where we are unable to provide service with a KeyMe locksmith, we do send calls to a dispatch partner who connects the caller with a local locksmith. We regret that we don't have more ability to control the quality of this customer experience. We are working hard to offer direct service in more areas, and would like to reiterate our apology that *** ****** had such a bad experience with us.
I used kiosk to cut 3 of the same door keys and they all worked great! I think I paid 8.99 each for 2 and the 3rd was free. I would use it again.
Business response:
We're so glad we were able to provide this customer with a satisfactory experience, and hope she does choose to return!
The cut came out nothing like the key I put in horrible and not accurate at all. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Business response:
We are sorry this customer received a key that didn't work- we've located his order and processed a full refund for this transaction. That should be reflected on *** ********* statement within a few business days. We have also sent a separate confirmation email to *** ******* for his records.
**Caution**Stay Away** like many other reviews, I had a terrible experience with this company. I was locked out of my home. The tech arrived and proceeded to use these inflatable shims to try to get the door open. When that didn't work, he tried once to pick it. He then made the executive decision to drill into the lock destroying it. I contacted keyme back and informed them that I wanted a refund because I wasn't going to pay $141 for that type of service.I called for a locksmith specialist. I could have broken the knob mys... read more

We regret that this customer had such a negative experience with our locksmiths. Having reviewed this transaction on our end, it does appear that the order was refunded in full. If that transaction still has not been refunded on the customer's end, we encourage him to contact us at **************so we can further investigate this issue. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, and hope we are able to resolve this customer's issue satisfactorily.
I locked my self out of my condo and got directed to Key Me. They were not able to pick the lock so they drilled into the cylinder and replaced the knob, this was a cost of about $150. I denied to accept the rekey as the technician had already taken over 2 hours. They then billed me an additional $170 plus for a rekey (that I had refused) on a SEPARATE charge that just showed up on my credit card bill. When I called, they sent me the invoice for this new secret charge. I called again and they said they "bundle" the cylinder ... read more
Business response:
We are truly sorry for the experience this customer had after calling us. It appears based on her service area that when she called, she opted to be connected to a local locksmith through a third party dispatch partner of ours. Unfortunately due to the nature of our partnership, we have limited control over the prices and policies of the individual locksmiths. We will be following up with our dispatch partner regarding this locksmith to ensure that he is not connected with our callers in the future.
KeyMe has a 2.1 star rating with 155 reviews.
KeyMe is open now. It will close at 6:00 p.m.
