Unbelieveable! I saw a kiosk at my local grocery store and took a chance on duplicating my car key considering the cost savings I was willing to take the risk. When I got home I read these reviews and thought...Oh well, I got scammed. I got my key in the mail within a few days. I was reluctant to even try it and it FIT PERFECT AND STARTED RIGHT UP! I am going to refer my friends! My car is a 2014 Kia Sorrento.
Business response:
Thanks so much for the review!
This company is a complete and total scam of a business, they shouldn’t even be considered a business. They claim to be a locksmith company yet they don’t have their own locksmiths (they contract out and don’t pay them well enough) and they don't have real key copying services! Their key copy kiosks that claim to be so technologically advanced DO NOT WORK. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY GETTING KEYS FROM A KEYME KIOSK. The kiosk duplicated 4 key for me, and guess how many worked! Exactly zero! None of them! I went to an actual loca... read more

We apologize for any negative experience this customer has had with our service. While our kiosks are extremely accurate, they do have occasional errors. In those cases, we process a full refund once the customer lets us know what the error was. In cases where a customer did not use an email address to save their key, or is unsure of what card they used to pay for the order, it can take slightly longer to process the refund. I am only seeing one order placed under the email address this customer provided, which was a free re... read more
If I could give 0 stars I would. I copied 3 keys at the kiosk, since you get the 3rd key for free. The cutting was sloppy and I had my doubts about the shape of the keys I received, but thought nothing of it. It wasn't until I tried getting into my house that I ran into problems. The key didn't work and the material is so cheap that it bends easily, given the amount of force required to unlock a door with an ill-fitting key. I called customer service to speak to them, added my name on the queue, and was called back only to s... read more

We apologize for the bad experience that this customer had, as well as the fact that reaching our experience team proved difficult. We are experiencing high call volumes today, and as a result our wait times have increased. We do offer email and live chat as alternative means of contact. I have located this customer's order using the email provided with this review, and processed a full refund.
KeyMe completely fails to make keys. I have made office keys which do not work. I recently tried to copy a transponder key and have it shipped to my home. The key arrived, I was unable to pair it with my vehicle. I tried having a locksmith pairing the key. They were unable to pair it. When they attempted to located the transponder in the body of the key, they found there wasn't even a chip in the key. What a scam! KeyMe did refund my money in each instance of their products failing, but their product causes such a major wast... read more
Business response:
We're sorry this customer had a bad experience with our product. Vehicle keys, and the technology used therein, can vary based on make, model, year, or even the specific dealership. For this reason, there are rare cases in which our keys will not start the ignition of a vehicle. Having reviewed this order, we can confirm that the key we sent was indeed a transponder key. Once this customer reached out to let us know that it was not working, we provided a full refund.
One of the three keys this company made for me would not come out of the ignition. I called their customer service number as soon as I got home, and the representative told me to call the recommended locksmith to come out to my home and help me -- the representative gave me the locksmith's phone number -- but when I asked how I would be reimbursed for the locksmith's services, the representative said he didn't know, maybe I should call back later and ask someone else. RED FLAG. So I called the locksmith, who came out and got... read more

We are truly sorry for the faulty product that caused this customer such inconvenience. This reimbursement has been approved; we have reached out to the customer multiple times this week to establish the best channel for reimbursement, but haven't received a response yet.
I made such a huge mistake by using these people, and I'm truly sick to my stomach over this experience. I called to have the locks rekeyed at my new home. They told me on the phone it would cost approx. 200$ (140 for the visit and main locks and $40 for additional locks). I had two doors with handle locks and deadbolts, and then one door with only the handle lock. When the guy got there, we actually to have him go ahead and match the handle and deadbolt for the door into the garage as well. The deadbolt in the garage was a ... read more

We appreciate this review, and that this customer chose to follow up regarding her experience. It seems as if a miscommunication between the locksmith we partnered with in this instance and our dispatch team resulted in a discrepancy between the price that was communicated, and the cost of the job. We will be adjusting the price for this customer, and are reaching out externally to resolve the issue.
I used an automated KeyMe kiosk to copy a key. I provided a key and got it scanned. I paid for the key using a credit card. The machine asked me for an email. I tried to skip that step or put "x" in the email space, but I found no way to skip and putting "x" in the email just bounced me back to the enter email screen. At this point, I decided that I would rather not get a key if they only way to get a key was to provide my email (particularly given the terms-of-use, which gives them broad rights to send promotional material)... read more

We appreciate this customer's feedback. Email is not required to place an order with us, but clearly there are some shortcomings in our user interface that resulted in a negative customer experience in this case. This feedback has been forwarded to our senior team, as well as our front-end developers. I'm not seeing any orders in our system under the email provided with this review. If this customer contacts us at **************, and can provide the email address he used at the kiosk, we'd be happy to remove it from our syst... read more
I used the key kiosk at my local grocery store. I copied 3 keys and none of them worked after completion. I was disappointed!
Business response:
We appreciate *** ******' review. We have located his order, and refunded him in full. In the future, we welcome *** ****** to reach out to us directly so we can make sure he is taken care of as quickly as possible.
I purchased one key in a kiosk and went along with the half off deal. Neither keys worked. I let them know I was dissatisfied and was contacted by different representatives in a series of emails with the typical “we are sorry...”. They offered a refund/and or coupon to purchase new keys. I opted for the refund because I didn’t want anymore keys that wouldn’t work (kind of pointless). Because it was never the same person I corresponded with, I felt extremely uncomfortable providing the last four digits of my credit card via e... read more

We appreciate the feedback this review provides. We are happy to provide this customer with a full refund, but given that she opted not to input an email address at the kiosk, and is unwilling to give us the additional information required to locate her order, we are unable to do so. While we respect and appreciate this customer's concern regarding security, we are a PCI-compliant organization, and use a secure third party to process all of our payments. We have reached out to this customer externally to see if we can troubl... read more
