I was locked out of my car on Wednesday night at 1500. At 1525 I complete my call to key me, and they quoted me at 1625 an hour later. During this time I have zero contact from driver or updated eta. At 1630 I call to check on status. Dispatch claims shock and that key me put in my wrong phone number to be reached. I correct phone number and dispatch says driver will contact. Ten minutes later I contact dispatch again, and they say driver will call and is 15 out. 5 mins after that I call key me to explain. They call dispatch... read more

The website says they make replacement vehicle keys. Both local stores deny this. Another company lies and wastes my time. Avoid these people.

We are terribly sorry to hear this customer had a negative experience while attempting to make a vehicle key with us. We do in fact make quite a few different vehicle keys. However, our kiosks, and locksmith technicians do not carry every key blank for many different reasons. It seems that unfortunately this customers key may have been a year, make, and model we do not currently have in our inventory.

If I could give them 1/64 of a star I would. I locked my keys in my truck, the keys were attached to my purse, which had my wallet in it. My insurance company was on the phone with me. They wanted payment before they would come out to help me. I explained more than once that I couldn't because my credit card was locked in the truck. I told them I would be happy to pay them as soon as my truck was unlocked so I could give him my credit card information. He told me he couldn't send anyone with out payment 1st. In cases where customers are outside of our direct service area, we connect them to a third party dispatch center, who will attempt to connect them to an available local locksmith. In this instances, we do not have control over the policies or processes of the individual locksmiths. We regret any convenience this has caused, and apologize again that this customer had such a poor experience after calling us.

Think twice before calling for their service. Key me is like the middleman for other locksmiths so they will tell you they have no control over how much they will charge a customer. Make sure you have $650 for opening your apartment door and replacing your lock with just an ordinary cheap lock. Still haven’t got the $130 refund they promised me.

We regret that this customer had such a poor experience after calling us. Upon further review, we see this customer was charged $131.73 for said lockout service. None of our partnered locksmiths were available at the customer's desired time which ultimately lead to the service being cancelled and fully refunded the same day. The funds were completely released on our end the day of booking June 25th, 2021.

Complete waste of my time. Needing an extra key for a Subaru forester I contacted KeyMe via their online website and chatted live with customer support. I was instructed to go to the nearest kiosk (at a 7-11) and I could get a key cut and programmed right away. At the kiosk, after scanning the key and providing my personal information, I was told that the key was a "low demand" one and that they could mail one to me in 2-3 working days. We regret that this customer had a negative experience after calling us, and was unable to get their key copied through our service. Our mobile kiosks are able to scan all vehicle keys, but as the blanks they are cut on are typically unique and often require some type of programming, these are always pushed to mail order. We regret that our customer experience agent did not inform this customer of this fact beforehand, and will be looking into this issue on our end.

They charged me $65 and made 8 keys when I ordered two. I called customer service and they’ve been giving me the run around for four days.

Called to get a car key cut, I told them the make and model, and they confirmed that they do cut keys for the car. Was told a locksmith would contact me within 25 minutes. After waiting almost 2 hours, and calling the company back 3 times, the operator asked me if anyone reached out, I told her no one had. While I was explaining to her what I was told by other reps, she hung up on me and I immediately received a text stating they didn’t cut keys for my car. Waste of my time. Horrible and unprofessional company!!!

Our representatives booked the job so that we could locate a locksmith in the area that could perform the service. Based on the feedback, it seems as if we could not get anyone out with that specific car key immediately, some vehicle keys are not as common and require ordering. It is apparent this company is the deceptive middle man. I was told they couldn't send a locksmith out, without a card on file. My boss was not available to put it on his card at that time. I told them they could hold my card. That they were NOT approved to charge my card. My boss was waiting for them to send him a statement and he would pay the bill. But instead they charged my card. Our service requires we put a card on file to hold the service, but said charge is a pending hold. Called Keyme for service they never showed up an hour later , tried to cancel and they repeatedly hung up on me and charged me for the service.. They were told on the call that a 2 year old child was in the car and if they wasn’t going to be at our location in 15 mins like they said we would be breaking the window of the vehicle….. bad business… don’t use this service , they are a scam

In these cases, we offer the option for customers to be connected with a third party dispatch center who can connect them with a local locksmith. Unfortunately, we do not have oversight into the pricing of these jobs, or their policy around cancellation fees. Again, we regret that this customer had such a poor experience after calling us.
