I was involved in a car accident the beginning of February 2019. State Farm's insured cut me off and slammed into my car. I originally was not going to pursue a claim so I never contacted them. However, after head injuries and consulting my doctor, I wanted to get at least compensated for lost work and doctor bills. Couple of years ago I was rear ended by one of their customers. I was asked to bring my vehicle to a State Farm location (4915 S Pulaski Rd., in Chicago) to determine repair cost. Brought my vehicle thinking that it was going to be a bad experience and that they were going to offer pennies compared to what repairs would cost, I was wrong. They gave an estimate within minutes, which I think was very fair, so they cut me a check right away. Claim specialist, Michell *****, was rude and insulting and refused to allow me to speak with anyone else after asking three times and requesting a supervisor. She was abusive and has no business speaking with people on a professional level.

My son was car jacked and attempted to shoot out the tires to avoid the truck being stolen. The man trying to steal my son's car drove it into a tree in a ditch. State Farm refused to pay for the repairs caused from the bullets. I was not happy about that but agreed to pay the difference. Once the repairs were complete, I went to pick up the truck and the engine was running very rough. The shop said it was a routine maintenance issue and just needed spark plugs. I found a less expensive insurance company that covered more for my home. I contacted my agent and told them that I wanted to cancel my policy to please send me the necessary paperwork, they said there was no paperwork we just do it verbally and State Farm will send you something in the mail. Needless to say I never got anything in the mail saying it was canceled. They charged my mortgage company for the insurance policy as well as my new insurance company charged my mortgage company. STAY FAR AWAY FROM STATE FARM! You've been warned! I've been a State Farm customer for almost 30 years and they are canceling my homeowner's policy, that I've had for 13 years because I've had 4 claims that were all weather related and the total of all claims is approximately $15,600, after I subtract my deductible. I was told by Amanda S****-Underwriter, they are canceling me because I have a high risk of filing more claims in the future. DUH! That's how insurance works! My agent is refusing to release an official proof of insurance to the DMV, which is required for me to be able to renew my registration. They were supposed to do this over two months ago, and the first time I called I was told it would be taken care of. Two months later I come to find they hadn't done it AND my plates are also now suspended due to lack of insurance proof, even though I had personally sent a copy of my insurance card to the DMV and being insured the whole time. I met Peyton at an event my kid's high school held. I was already a State Farm customer but with a different agent, but wasn't happy with the service I was receiving from them. Peyton promised us that he could definitely fix the issues we were having but didn't. He is nice enough, his staff is decent, but it sucks that any changes made by us customers go through our agent...but yet the agent "can't make" them technically. I'm Done with State Farm after over 25 years. Their customer service is terrible, and they don't listen to their customers. I had an issue with State Farm using all used parts to repair my car especially when I had just spent $1200 to replace the condenser four months earlier.
