I was traveling to work and was sideswiped by a State Farm policyholder. Initially, I thought I was at fault, and accepted responsibility on scene, but the CHP incident report stated that the State Farm policyholder is at fault. My insurance company has been trying to talk to State Farm, but State Farm has not spoken to their insured and is still investigating coverage. I spoke with a claims specialist, Shirley, over the phone today regarding an accident my wife was involved in. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was constantly talking down to us and made my wife cry. Business aside, no one should be treated, especially a customer, the way we were treated. Don’t do business with State Farm; there are other companies that will treat you with respect. I am shocked State Farm would employ a person like this.

Management's response to complaints ended up in something worse. An individual in management called me about the complaints twice at 12:59 p.m. MST Aug. 6 (and again, twice, just 57 minutes later -- that's rather harassing). A poor associate emailed me about sending my insurance payout via snail mail even though I took the time to set up my profile on StateFarm.com weeks earlier to have the payout be sent electronically to my bank. He said that this guy who called me four times in just 57 minutes had talked with him. Way to ... read more

I asked Thursday afternoon for proof of payment -- and they hung up. Yet, I called again. Then they hung up -- again. They also are beyond incompetent -- two different people could not spell my email address correctly. And I had told it to each of them twice.

I researched for a better price for homeowners and auto insurance. State Farm quoted me with a significant price difference than current insurance company. After I paid and switched to State Farm, a State Farm assessor visited my home and reassessed the replacement cost at a higher cost than originally stated. A State Farm representative admitted that State Farm had failed in not calling me back, meaning that I was using rental car service days for no reason. I needed those because I need the rental car until I can get an insurance payout in order to buy a new car. Yet, the representative was not willing to help in being able to arrange other rental days for the car. Worst company ever! It's a pure scam! They put 2 claim under my son's name which he was never involved. They would do anything to blame you and either drop you or raise your coverage! I will report them to N.Y. state and report them for fraudulent activities. When I called the claim department they told me that any claim is used against you even if it's not your fault even if your care was parked and someone hit you. So why would I pay over $6000 A year if I'm not allowed to file a claim? This company will come back to get y... read more

I asked a State Farm person to add a note to my claim. I thought this would be fine when I made a call asking for the same request previously. I had that belief even more strongly since I on a different call, I had asked that of another State Farm person and they said they made the note. But this representative told me that she couldn't make such a note. Despite proactively calling four different times about my car being at a junkyard in Salt Lake City and how that relates to my being able to get my belongings (the entirety of my belongings) out of it, I never got the truth. Instead, I was told that the car is or would be at the junkyard on Thursday, July 12, 2018. That informed me not only paying for a rental car, but also limiting the rental to being until Thursday, July 19.
