Turbotax in itself is great. I've been with them for almost 10 years. My issue is this advance scam they have going on with green dot. Telling people they'll receive their advance and a temporary card until actual card comes in the mail. Yet everyones temp cards seem to not work Customer service is a joke! It's a scam to get people to get the visa card.
I ordered a few returns from Intuit ProtaxConnect online and noticed they charged me the amount more than what shows on the invoice they sent me. I called in, their agent told me that is for sales tax. When I asked why does the charged not showed on the invoice, even though there is a explicit line for sales tax on that invoice, and why no communication was ever sent to inform to inform the additional charge before the payment was drafted, the response was it's just a system glitch and it happens to everyone. I've hit "unsubscribe" on Intuit/TurboTax advertising emails so many times. This shouldn't happen. After the first click I should have been taken off their email list.
I've used Turbo Tax for several years. This year they changed the way that returns are e-filed. I did a live chat and asked to be called by an agent. When the agent called me, I asked what information they were specifically requesting. The agent guided me through it and gave me the wrong dollar amount to submit. He gave me the "taxable income" amount, rather than the "adjusted gross income". I questioned him about the accuracy and he assured me that it was correct. TurboTax charged my credit card BEFORE showing me the total I was paying for the service! Very sneaky and unfair business practice!! Who even does that? And I can't get a refund even though I haven't even filed or downloaded my returns yet. Unbelievable. The service itself is good but I can't get over how lousy a move that was.
I had a horrible experience with this company... They refused to refund my money after screwing me over and their customer care service is zero. I got help from a cyber security company that helped me recover my money and since then I have been working with them; Dark Age Technology. HORRIBLE practices, and FRAUD! They do not have any customer service! On error from their side, they said go figure it out..!
Did not resolve the issue I had with the software and repeatedly told me they would grant a refund and never did. I had to charge back my credit card.
Turbotax makes it absolutely impossible to get customer service. They constantly gatekeep via robotic phone trees, online chat robots, and do everything in their power to keep you from getting actual people even when it's XXXXX% necessary. They keep deactivating my account and trying to send me thru their automated system to reactivatewhich doesn't work unless you're logged in. You can't log in unless your account is active.
