I have an appointment with a lawyer over this issue, I never signed any contract with IGS, a rep came to my home while I was working, intimidated my young sister who was temp staying with me into signing a contract. All utilities are in MY name, she told him this and signed HER name, not mine. She just wanted him to leave she was scared. So how in the hell was this contract approved when the signature is NOT the lawful account holder? I only just found this out and it started back in 2019! Why don't you IGS ENERGY have BBB (Better Business Bureau) Accreditation? The BBB ratings as of 2-7-23 indicate a 1.16 rating out of a possible 5 points.
I had IGS Home Warranty for over a year. The salesman made the warranty sound good but it is a scam. "Will it cover my appliances?" Yes, it covers everything he says... however the fine print will say such specific types of appliances that are being phased out and discontinued that more than likely there will be some way to tell you it isn't covered when it needs service. A sales person from IGS calls me in December and tells me my "previous" supplier was bought out by IGS and I am paying higher rates than necessary and if I signed a new agreement I could be locked in at a lower price. Not wanting to be paying higher rates and believing that my former supplier was purchased by IGS I agreed and signed up without checking. Do not let anyone from this company sign you up! Rates for electric are double of what others are offering and they have a termination fee that they don't tell you about until you try to terminate. You don't receive paperwork. I have had almost triple electric bill! They don't care about the consumer at all! After the first bill I received I thought MAYBE I overreacted but getting the second bill and calling I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. Same thing here. IGS bought out Dominion Energy and in the transfer of my FIXED RATE contract with Dominion switched it to a variable rate contract which increased my bills by 100%. They claim they notified me about the switch to a variable rate but they didn’t. They claim the contact information for me was not properly transferred so they only had my home address, no home number, cell number or email address. I received no letter to this effect.

This company is good at scamming you. The salesman claimed lower Bill's with certain charges dropped on the Duke Energy bill. Recieved first bill and the charges that were to be dropped , doubled on the bill. There was two charges for each one. Now they want to charge $199 cancellation fee. Stay away from them and turn away any salesman that comes to your door.

A representative and someone in training came to my door in the summer remind you my new landlord on the property at the time. He asked for my Duke bill and told me they could get my bill lowered which was a lie. I canceled with them last month and it’s still on my bill. I talked to someone about it and she told me I would have to pay 99.00 to cancel they said my bill would be lower but actually it’s higher. I very upset about this definitely a scam I would never recommend them to no one.
I have owned my home for 8 yrs. never a 241.00 dollar gas bill ! I'm being ripped off by IGS and I want to see a signed contract from 2019-20 like they claim !
