Vision Works in Homewood, IL from the time you enter the store, the customer service is terrible. I ordered some glasses on May 3, 2021........I called to check the status of receiving them on May 29, 2021. I was told the glasses had been in since May 8, 2021; however no one called me to let me know the glasses were in. After making a 10:20 am appointment months in advance, I showed up at the Visionworks location at 10:15 am to find that the mall doors to access the store were locked. I called Visionworks to ask how to get into the building and they said the doors open at 10:30 am. I explained that my appointment was scheduled for 10:20 and they told me to wait and they'd try to have someone let me in. Around 10:35 am someone from security opened the doors. I went in for an eye exam several days ago, and the employee was having trouble getting a reading on the machine with my glasses. I was asked if my prescription glasses were 'readers', as the employee pressed the lens directly to the machine several times and moved my glasses back and forth. In the exact spot where she was running my lenses through the machine, there is now visible damage to the coating of my lens. When I noticed the damage, I went back into the store. I bought 2 pair of progressive lens glasses. I could not see out of the left eye properly. Another exam was done and was told they remade the lens. The time mailing out and scheduling a new appointment during COVID took up all of the warranty time. When I picked up the glasses the 2nd time I told them I would have to wear them at work and the sun glasses in the car as it was hard to tell in the store if they would work. Foolishly and self-indulgently, I ordered multiple glasses (for reading, driving, multifocal, sunglasses) and experienced SIX errors in the production of the lenses! Service was fine -- the QUALITY CONTROL of the product is totally UNACCEPTABLE. HOW are so many errors possible??
Today I had The worst experience ever I made an appointment online to visionworks locate in ******** **** ****** **. I've gotten multiple email and text messages confirming my appointment. I get to the place and the receptionist approaches me to confirm if I had an appointment I sign in and I was told to sit and wait until I be called. Let me start by saying I've been a client of Visionworks for YEARS. I tried a new location because it's very nearby my home. I had 2 orders. 1) a new pair and glasses and frames. 2) new lenses for an existing pair. I was going to get the first pair made, and then drop my frames off for the 2nd pair, because I couldn't be totally without glasses. I was told that I'd be called or texted when they came in. Over the last couple of years the ability to actually get someone on the phone at the ******, NY store has been impossible. It sends me to a new robo system. I have called 6 times today only to get “Amelia” (an answering robot woman) which is of no help. Kept telling me she couldn’t find an order for me. I went to Visionworks in Victor, NY. Only had problems with the eye doctor. If I could directly give him zero stars I would. He was condescending and incredibly rude. I have never experienced a doctor who spoke to me in that way. Telling me I was irresponsible because I didn't bring in the contacts I was currently using.
