Rented a car for a business trip and the conference was canceled. When I canceled my Hertz reservation, the charged me a $100 cancelation fee (the total for the rental would have been $174). This is a company that does NOT cater to business travelers and has predatory pricing policies. I was a gold rewards member and could not get a waiver of this fee. NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ!

HERTZ had a reservation at the BWI airport in my name that was PREPAID. When we got to the counter they said it would be approximately a 1 hour wait. The company has made no attempt to compensate me for our 4 hour wait time that it actually took. The I have had no apology or even a concern that they had a problem. 4 HOURS. We were meeting a group to spread the ashes of my brother. We were over an hour away so we couldn't uber. I felt like this company would have not reimbursed us if we tried to cancel. Hello my name Jamie W,I drive for the Uber program, the Manager Jamie at hertz on military highway Norfolk Virginia told me to return the vehicle June 22nd ,she say that would be my last week I have to get a new vehicle,(if all calls are recorded pull it up ,June,16 1pm)when I turn in the vehicle this week she tells me I can't rent a vehicle because I'm on the blocked list. I wish I could leave less than one! Car I rented from local office had a bad tire. Upon discovery the next morning, I was unable to return to local office as they were closed. Several calls to customer service resulted in having to drive 35 miles to swap the vehicle at the airport. Final bill included a $185 charge for Emergency Road Service - which was never received. Numerous calls/emails have resulted in no action and no reversal of charges

Hertz should be required to advertise their additional fee to add a second driver. Most other car rental companies allow the spouse to drive for free. If this is not their policy, I respect that, however it would be nice to know at the time of booking to accurately compare prices. My parents rented a car at the same time as us. Their booking was in my dad's name but my mom's credit card and they said because her credit card was used, it was 'technically' in her name. My mom is blind in one eye and never drives. I made a reservation and prepaid Apr 11 for a 7 passenger van for 2 weekdays in May - pick up and drop off at 8am at the east Boca Raton, FL location. I received a text message at 7:20am on the pick up day saying they were overbooked and my reservation was cancelled. I called the location when they opened. They confirmed they did not have a vehicle for me. There was no effort to offer any other vehicle and no additional explanation. I don't even have enough characters to describe how abusive this company is to their customers. Back in mid-May, they rented me a faulty car that was uncleaned with trash and dirt all inside, unsafe (stranded us 3x ruining 2/3 days of our vacation- car refused to turn on with keyfob, even after replacing keyfob battery which only kept the car turning on/off for less than 24 hours), and with seatbelt issues, stereo issues, and electrical outlet issues- all while providing 0 help, concern, or assistance. I have rented from Hertz for many years and am a Gold customer. No more! On a recent rental at Logan Airport in Boston I was asked if I wanted extra insurance and said NO. (My personal auto insurance policy makes it unnecessary.) I was also asked about roadside assistance and said NO, as I have AAA.
