Rented Car from Hertz in Wilmington, NC. Returned car full of gas. Got bill next day adding a fuel surcharge. I asked rep for photo of fuel gauge, she sent me a photo showing the gauge at full. Told her I thought this was "nickle-dimey". She must of taken exception to that comment, because about an hour later, I got a bill for "cleaning surcharge" of $250.00. The worst rental car company period. Second time waiting at the body shop and no one will answer the phone. Scheduled appointment 2 weeks ago. Had to cancel appointment again and call some other rental company

Worst customer service ever. Got yelled at for parking in their parking lot for a pickup in their business. had to park in another business. When we got inside the manager was just as rude. Then refused to give us a car. We had a pre-paid reservation. We had to go to their competition for a rental last minute. Don't try to rent a car here, they may not give you one.

I would rather walk then give these people another knuckle . Tried them twice in last 3months both times have turned out to be nightmares .

My name is ************************* and I am 37 years old. I recently had reconstructive surgery on my mouth and face due to a connective tissue disorder I was born with. My jaw bone was degenerating so rapidly which caused me to have my teeth removed to prevent endocarditis (infection of the heart leading to death). I went to Hertz in Hickory, NC, to pick up the jeep 4x4 I had placed on hold a month in advance to rent. When I got there the manager asked to see my credit card. Didn't tell me she was going to use it for a vehicle I didn't even give permission to rent. I was supposed to get a jeep 4x4, my card was swiped for a Nissan rogue AWD. I would have never rented the car if my card had not been swiped. Where do I even start? First, this location is the absolute worst about answering their phone. I tried for months to call with simple questions. Never could reach anyone via phone. So Id have to drive all the ay there and hope they were opened. All that aside. On June 6th, a lady side swiped me in my rental car. So I brought it back and was given a new one. On the 29th. Hertz is a horrible rental company and they steal money if you are not careful. Booked through Expedia and my balance at rental was 487.66. After renting the car and having to pay an exorbitant amount for a deposit 500.00 we ended up being charged 599.96. To try and talk to the customer service is crazy. They are rude and there are agents I. The background laughing and screwing around. Which is quite amazing since I sat on hold for 10 min. Will Never rent from them again.
