Will NOT be doing business again, having rented a vehicle and paid for, from orlando MCO to be delivered at Newark EWR obviously without a return flight. I was denied a rental (paid for) with clear black and white on printed paper stating it was a one way rental from MCO to EWR. I was stranded with a planned move of personal goods that I couldn't fit in suitcase on a plane which costed me an extra 600$ and 2 days delay having to drive in a snow storm back home I was supposed to NOT hit. This place is terrible they have charged me over $1500 when I pre-paid for the rental vehicle which was $300 and then $472 for the extension, that's an extra $700 for NO reason. I am extremely upset with their customer service. After reading all these reviews I am glad I'm not crazy. I will NEVER use this company again. This place is a complete scam and should be punished after I am seeing all of these reviews.

I will never recommend or use Hertz rental cars again! We were in a head on collision while on vacation & needed a rental car to get home in another state. Hertz rented us a car and the location where we were scheduled to return the vehicle the next day near our home town was closed! We were running behind schedule and when I contacted the drop off location to let them know, this is when I found out they were no longer in business! Perhaps the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a major brand. I was charged $137 for rental which the Hertz website stated was listed for $56 on the same day at the same airport. Five calls to customer service and one unanswered complaint form all resulted in the same outcome. I was told that $137 was the rate I was quoted and there was nothing they would do to correct it. Good afternoon. I rented a pickup truck from Hertz at LGA. It was given to me with a bed full of snow. I asked if they were supposed to clean it out. The answer I got was "oh we don't do that". Then I get on the highway full of snow and salt, I go to clean the windshield and the washer fluid was empty. I was on a NY highway unable to see. I would just like to start by saying, if you are thinking of renting from hertz, don't! The absolute biggest rip off of a rental company ever! The employees are rude, have no understanding or compassion for anyone, just cold heartless robots. Second, if you think your deposit for the car that totals on the site is legitimate, it's not! I, along with several other customers, arrived into Cleveland International Airport Monday at approximately 10:30 pm. Once we reached the Hertz rental kiosk, there was no one on duty. According to my confirmation email, I was to proceed to the lot and select a vehicle from the Gold class area that met my reservation requirements/requests. Warning, they lie... At the Hertz rental in League City, TX. I had a pick up time of 11am. They said due to an emergency, they gave my designated vehicle to someone else. This delayed my pick up an hour and created an issue as I had a 5 hr drive and to get to a meeting in 6 hours. Furthermore, they lied to me about the Fuel Purchase Option. They told me that by taking the Fuel Purchase Option, I would only be charged the amount to top off the fuel tank, and would not be charged for a complete full tank.
