NEVER RENTING FROM HERTZ...... I booked a rental from Hertz online to Jackson, MS 18 Feb - 21 Feb. I booked this reservation early in the month of February. There was a terrible snow storm that hit Mississippi on 17 Feb. On 18 Feb, my flight was cancelled because of the weather in Jackson Ms. and also that the airport was closed. I called Hertz to "modify" the reservation by changing the dates to the following week of 25 Feb - 28 Feb. I rented a minivan from Hertz in Overland Park, KS, in February 2021. After having the reservation for two months, I arrived at the facility to be told that they had no vehicle to give me as it had been returned damaged. I understand that can happen, but I got absolutely no notice. They said I should call around other rental companies, but it was 5:00 and I needed the van by the next morning. Hertz is very IRRESPONSIBLE! They gave us a car that had a lot of problems even though it was a 2021. The car needed an alignment, the sensor did worked when they wanted to, the light of the breaks turned on because it was having a failing. The sensors of the windows were messed up we actually had to push the window up. The car was making funny noises wile driving and when turning the wheel. While driving on the highway the car was very slippery and we had to move the car to the side and it WAS NOT BREAKING. We actually trie... read more

This is way this company is going bankrupt. I rented a car on the 12th, to be returned Monday the 15th by 2pm central time. The city I rented the car had a snow and ice storm, so the 3100 Charlotte pike Nashville TN, location did not open. I called before leaving the house at 12 noon and was told the said location was open. I drove thru the snow and ice to return the car and the place was in fact closed. Worst rental company I have ever worked with. Was talked into saving money per gallon by allowing them to fill up the gas we used during our trip. Come to find out I was lied to and charged for a FULL tank of gas even though we only used 1/4 tank. Called them to talk about this and was told it didn't matter that we were lied to because I signed saying they could fill us up I was stuck with $55 in gas even though we used 1/4 of tank. Will never use hertz again and I am extremely upset!

NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ!!! They are unclear about their terms and customer service is as unhelpful as they can possibly be. Expensive and TERRIBLE service. They would not work with us at all and customer service would "transfer" us to a supervisor when we asked. The supervisor would never answer and eventually the call would drop or they would hang up on us. We were transferred to the voicemail at one point.

I reserved, and prepaid, for a Large Sedan Group F Car, for four days. What I was given was a Toyota Corolla. When I got home I checked my reservation confirmation and sure enough, it was for a large sedan. I called and asked if I could bring the Corolla back and switch it out for the correct vehicle. They said "sorry but no larger sedan's were available." When I asked about being upgraded to a small SUV they said it was a great deal more expensive. By far the absolute worst car rental experience I've ever had. I booked a car for January 29th 2021 at the Montclair, CA location. When I arrived for the car I asked about upgrading, and the guy started to explain all of these charges that would come of it so I said no. He then showed me my print out of the receipt, which totaled close to $600 when the car I booked was only $269. I asked for the transaction to be voided and he did so.
