Hertz is taking advantage of COVID situation. I rented a car for an emergency. The car was not cleaned and definitely not sanitized as the recycled striker that was on the window stated. They billed me 200 bucks for additional cleaning due to pet hair. I did not travel with any type of pet. I called and told them there was no way because I did not travel with a pet and told me to prove it. I intern asked them to show me the pictures of the so called pet hair. I tried to reserve a rental online to the Columbia, Sc airport and the site kept saying internal error so I called customer service and ask them to honor the online price, well they put me on hold for over 30 minutes needless to say i just hung up .
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I picked up my rental car from the Denver airport. It was too small so we had decided to upgrade. The woman at the counter told us that the new car would be $50/ day. I was charged an additional $50/day on top of what I already paid before we got there. I contacted them after returning our rental car and was told that I was overcharged, but because I did not contact them before returning the car it did not matter and they were not willing to reimburse any money. I made a reservation through my Insurance company to pick up a large truck at your Salem Virginia location, address 231 East 4th St, Salem VA 24153. The reservation was scheduled for 12/14/2020 at 12:30 PM. Even a one star review is to much. First off they don't have any customer service agents that want to help or stop talking long enough to listen to the issue. I reserved a car in advance with my (******************** credit card) they charged it the full price of the 3 day rental then tell me they can't accept it to use as the deposit and can't take cash and just keep that card on file. Terrible company. I didn't even rent from them, but due to a mistake I had to cancel a reservation. After trying for an hour to reach the relevant customer service outlet, I was told (multiple times!) that there would be a $50 cancelation fee. Okay, I can accept that. However, I get an email later stating that it'll be a $150 fee instead? And indeed, I was charged for it! Shady switcheroo nonsense, never renting a car from them.
I arrived at your Hertz location, located at 911 West Anderson Lane, Suite 125 Austin, TX US 78757, to pick up my reservation Monday, 11/30/2020. Deceptive customer service to get you to buy toll pass, after realizing I could add car to my own ipass account I called customer service to decline toll pass addition I was told it would be noted . I still got charged for the toll pass along with my own toll account . Hertz refused to refund the toll charges . Cadillac CTS I rented constantly leaked air from one tire . They overcharged me by $137 for 4 days after I returned the vehicle and are not refunding. They said instead they need to file a dispute, when the office themselves said they are at fault. The terrible customer service and 30 minute hold times are one thing, but fraudulent charges are another. It's unacceptable.
