I currently do Uber full time due to covid it is affecting current earnings for the week and month plus inflation currently happening at this time makes it extremely stressful to make a living just doing Uber. I made a decision to rent the new Teslas from Hertz to do Uber out of Austin Texas. The current price is very high at 470.00 $ a week to rent, if figured if its considered Uber Green I can make extra ok income. Used Hertz (4621 W. Belmont Ave. Chicago, IL.) through a insurance rental claim. Insurance company attempted several times to speak with a manager about billed charges. Seeking information on why I was billed separate as this was 1 claim that should result in 1 charge. Insurance company was billed $800. I was charged $238 on my credit card. When I went into the office asking why I was charged the $238 on my credit card. Lady confirmed that my charges were $47 but the additional $191 were taxes. Taxes are high. I rented a Full size vehicle as part of a 3-day trip from Dallas to Indianapolis. I picked up the car on Wed 1/12/22. Very minimal wait at the counter. The customer service person was a little more than lethargic but he got me taken care of. I owed $62 in taxes after already pre-paying $201 for the rental. I paid it and was given the car information. I got a 2017 Ford Fusion!! A 5 year old car! When I made a comment about the age of the car, I was told that their inventory was extremely low. Rented a car in key west FL, got in and it smelt so strongly of marijuana, had leftover puke in the backseat and what looked like boogers on the dash and all over the ceiling. The car hadn't been cleaned even a little. We were given no other choice for a vehicle but told it would be documented so we wouldn't be charged. The experience started off great. It was the end that garnered the poor rating. The car was defective. It broke down twice. The brakes were shot. I had to pay an Uber for four of us to get back to the airport. The customer service department apologized and credited my account 750 loyalty points. Woohoo! What about the out - of - pocket cost of the Uber ride? The inconvenience of hours of not being able to drive anywhere? After an exchange of emails, they simply refused to respond. I had a very low tire. I called them and after 15 minutes of collecting my information they said it would be $75 service charge. I declined the service and fixed the tire myself. They not only charged me anyway, I called them the day I of the return to take the charge off and they said they would. The charge was never reversed and I called again and a brainless customer service agent said a supervisor over ruled it and she apologized for ripping me off. Hertz is absolutely terrible and will charge you for things 3 weeks after your rental and up charge absolutely ridiculous my rental was 150 for three days then I needed to add three more days and it was 500$ MORE. 641$ total I will NEVER use hertz again. Terrible.

Explicitly declined the insurance ($40/day) at time of vehicle pickup and was charged for it anyways. Customer service is useless. I was told I would get a call back from a supervisor within 48 hours and no call. Called back and given the same spiel, told I was being transferred to a supervisor and just put back in customer service queue. Honestly the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. I will be initiating a charge-back for the fraudulent charges and will never use Hertz again.

We rented a car though dollar car rentals. However, hertz owns them. I will never rent a car through any of these services again.... My experience was terrible. It took me an hour to get my rental car. $460 more after i had paid for the majority online. I understand the taxes, insurance, & all. But $700 for a rental car for 3 days is outrageous. I went through 4 different employees before anyone actually even considered helping me. They were all rude as ****. Wouldn't let me plead my case. Just wanted every dollar i have. I ... read more
