Unfortunately, I can't give zero stars because this company has horrible customer service and lies to their customers. I rented a car in Seattle at the airport location and was offered the fuel purchase option. At no point did they say that I was purchasing a full tank of gas. I was only renting the car for 2 days and only used a 1/4 tank of gas. The agent made it seem like I would only be charged for the used fuel so I agreed to this option. We got scammed at Hertz at the Kas Vegas airport. The agent added 983$ of insurance when we said we didnt want it. My husband has hearing loss and his hearing aids fall out when wearing a mask, so he was not wearing them due to airport masking policy. The agent at the desk also had a mask on and also spoke quietly. When asked if we wanted insurance we both said no. He then took our credit card. If I could choose less than 1 star - I surely would. I reserved a car on January 28th and prepaid for the reservation. On February 23rd, one day before I was due to pick up the car I received a TEXT stating there were no cars available. After speaking to 7 different people I was still unable to get a car and asked for my money to be credited to my card. I received such a run around trying to get this credit. I am very disappointed in the level of customer service I received since beginning my rental with Hertz; up to this point I have had nothing but positive experiences. The vehicle choices on arrival at the La Guardia location were slim for the full size/standard size vehicles, only 3 available sedans, all of the vehicles appeared dirty, recently used, and damaged. I know this is partially my fault for not having read the agreement. But when reserving the car at Hertz Kissimmee, I asked for full insurance coverage, it cost USD31.00 per day extra. We were involved in a car accident near Atlanta and a week after coming back we were informed we did not have the liability insurance. I asked the attendant to please add all the insurance since we were going further this time. Lesson learned for me to always read the entire contract and never just trust what they are saying they are adding.

Arranged for a "luxury" rental car, received a 4 year old Infinity covered in bird droppings and otherwise filthy. Several electronic and mechanical problems cropped up during the one-day rental period. When I received the emailed receipt, they charged me for insufficient fuel and the mileage was inaccurate. Terrible service. Rented a van (reservation for 16 days). Returned within 18 hours due to very bad odor; smelled like urine so bad we couldn't stand it. Ten days later, our credit card is still being charged for the full 16-day rental cost. Customer service number runs you around in circles. Will be filing a dispute with our CC company.
