I spent a fortune on an Infiniti Q80 rental today and was told I would have Sirius XM. Spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Hertz agents in the Philippines and Sirius XM customer service. It was all very "How may we not help you?" No one could get it done. I have 7 more days of FM listening as a result. Very annoyed.

This has been the worst car rental experience ever!! I rented through Priceline and I paid in full to avoid any charges at the airport. I picked up and returned the car from MCO. When I got home there was a charge for 168.08 on my credit card. I called them right away they told me I was being charged for fuel which I filled up the car before arriving at the airport and an extra day which I didn't stay an extra day. I prepared for a car on Hertz.com for a business trip -- I didn't want to waste time at the checkout counter since I was a Hertz Gold Member. I returned the car a day early and wasn't refunded ANY of my money. I was told since it wasn't for an family emergency or another valid reason, I wouldn't receive a refund for returning the car early. What a way to treat a Hertz Gold Member. Don't rent from Hertz if you need flexibility.

I paid over 700 dollars for a rental in Bozeman MT in June 2021. I was rented a 2021 suburban and the vehicle leaked gasoline from the time we picked it up until the time we dropped it off. We contacted the location we rented it from, the Jackson Hole location, and Hertz corporate and NO ONE offered any solution. The Bozeman Hertz manager lied and said he credited a days rental back to my card. I guess if the vehicle had caught fire, maybe that would have generated a response. I've been renting cars from Hertz since February 2020. And I'd usually extend the rental weekly so every 7 days. They will not give me my deposits back. The first one was for $200 and the second rental was for $500. Corporate won't even contact me in regards to the matter. No where in the contract does it say I WON'T receive my deposit back if rental is extended. The customer service is horrible. There isn't a corporate number to even reach anyone only an email. Hertz once was the best (and most expensive) place to rent a car. One paid for service and reliability. Last week, we received neither. 1. Hertz rented a defective car that would not start. 2. Their solution after being on the telephone for 1.5 hours was to pay $75 for a battery jump or ride 90 minutes with the tow truck to the nearest hertz location for a replacement then drive 90 minutes back. neither alternative was acceptable. at the very least, one should not have to pay for a simple battery jump or replace as the custo... read more

I reserved a car for 12:00. I got there at 12:15. They told us they don't have the car we reserved but they can give us a smaller car. We agreed because we didn't have a choice. Then they took 40 min to clean the car. The car was running the whole time, using the gas that we paid for.

Like tons of others here, would leave no stars if it was possible. Getting the car in Winston Salem, NC was fine. I was able to pick up the car early. I was told the charge, told that there was a security deposit of $200 that would be refunded when it gets returned (normal) and confirmed the location I was dropping off at. It was a one way trip from Winston to Beachwood, Ohio because I bought a car up there. After 8 hours of driving I get there...it's a hotel. Confused, I go to call the location number. We are loyal hertz gold members and have rented exclusively from them for years. On a recent trip to Colorado we made a 3 day reservation for a SUV from the Denver airport costing $1,151.09. Prior to the trip we price checked the rates and found that they had dropped by $800.00. We called the Hertz line and were told that they would adjust the reservation to reflect the new rate of $385.84. After renting the car we realized that the rate hadn't been adjusted.
