Returned a vehicle after vacation in Northwest. @ months later received a bill for damages to vehicle. The vehicle was returned in same condition as when drove out the lot. Renting from airport was a challenge, even though we had a reservation. We are older and responsible, and there was NO damage to the vehicle when returned. I believe this is a scam. 2 months later? Who has rented the vehicle since then? Not happy with Hertz.
Worst car rental ever. The compact car was so expensive over $1000, smelled so badly like smoke that I had to leave the windows down to breathe well. While driving it sounded like it was going to break down at any moment. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed.
They tripled the price of a reservation without telling me after the reservation was committed by the company. I only found out about the increase after seeing news from other people that they did the same thing to them.
would give them zero if i could. no customer service - period. cant get on the website, cant get anyone on the phone, car wasnt available even though i had a reservation. no coms from the company and no way to make a complaint to corporate. obviously this company is too big to care about individual customers. ill never give them my business again
This business does everything possible to get as much money out of the consumer with helping their own customers. I am dealing with a merchant dispute because the company refuses to solve payment issue amicably and within reason. Never doing business with them again and if you chose them stick exactly to what you planned on doing and hope that you do t need to keep the car a day longer or return to another location. Have a receipt that states customer responsibility is 8 a day. Had the car for 29 days and they charged me over 1500. Worst customer service ever. Told me to call my insurance company and have them fight them. Why?? The receipt in my belonging says 8 a day. I will be happy to send said receipt anywhere they want to have this fixed.
Horrible experience ever. We always use enterprise and budget but went to Hertz due to the COVID price increase hertz was "cheaper" online. BUT NO! We paid in advance $700, got an email confirmation stating the rental was paid in full with no balance due at pick up other than presenting the credit card and drivers license used for the reservation. One week after returning a Hertz rental car to airport in Bozeman, MT I get a call from Hertz advising damaged was found on car. When I returned the car an agent walked around car and found no damage. I left the premises and received my receipt via email. If the car was damaged, it happened after I returned it. I contacted the Hertz operation at the Bozeman airport and received nothing but double talk. The whole affair smacks of incompetence and disregard for ethical business practices.
I have never been more disappointed by a company. My friend and I rented a car for 4 days. During our trip a tire blew and we were stuck on the side of the mountains in BC with zero cell phone service without a shoulder to pull our car to. The entire event took us 10 hours to solve and we ended up missing an entire day of our trip. Luckily becasue we had insurance Hertz legally owes us for the tow truck and new tired we had to pay out of pocket for.
