We rented a car though dollar car rentals. However, hertz owns them. I will never rent a car through any of these services again.... My experience was terrible. It took me an hour to get my rental car. $460 more after i had paid for the majority online. I understand the taxes, insurance, & all. But $700 for a rental car for 3 days is outrageous. Hertz is absolutely terrible and will charge you for things 3 weeks after your rental and up charge absolutely ridiculous my rental was 150 for three days then I needed to add three more days and it was 500$ MORE. 641$ total I will NEVER use hertz again. Terrible.

Explicitly declined the insurance ($40/day) at time of vehicle pickup and was charged for it anyways. Customer service is useless. I was told I would get a call back from a supervisor within 48 hours and no call. Called back and given the same spiel, told I was being transferred to a supervisor and just put back in customer service queue. Honestly the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. I will be initiating a charge-back for the fraudulent charges and will never use Hertz again.

We rented a midsize for a quick road trip. They "gave us a free upgrade" to a less fuel efficient vehicle because they needed it taken where we were going. That cost us more. Then they charged us even more when a rock hit the windshield, which obviously was not our fault. I am not happy.

I live down in Florida and I tried to make a reservation for 3 days and redeem my 800 Reward points and was LIVID to find out that they aren't there anymore. The agents are idiots and don't have anything to say but "I apologize". This has been escalated for a second time with no results and i'm still unable to make my business meeting in Atlanta next week 01/20/2022. A whole BS show. Very disappointed with Hertz and will not use them again. I've used them for ALL 5 rentals and to not have my points from it IS LIKE ROBBERY

Google "Hertz smoking fee" and you'll find plenty of people that were charged $400 for a smoking fee when they do not smoke. These are news articles from large media companies. Not random faceless reviews. They got me too. I called them and all they do is blow you off. Was told I'd be sent pictures of the ash they found in the car. Never got them. Horrible experience with Hertz. They changed my requested vehicle without my consent. They added services I did not request. I will never use them again and I will warn family and friends to steer clear of this unscrupulous company.

Hertz used to be the premier rental agency. I was very happy when I was able to rent from Hertz when I did corporate travel. No more! I prepaid a rental for around $150 for a compact car in Florida but needed to cancel due to my trip being canceled. There were Covid concerns as well as an impending snow event here (BWI). I canceled prior to 24 hours from pickup. The cancellation fee was $100 out of my $150 rental! Are you telling me that they won't be able to rent that car for more?! What a rip-off. I rented a car from Hertz in Chicago for a family funeral. When I returned it at a "leave the keys in the box drop off", a few days later charged me $400 for a cleaning fee. They said there was dog hair all over car. I don't even own a dog nor was there any animal in car. I went to a funeral. I called them and they sent me pictures of some car with dog hair.
