This is a long story but will try to make it short. I was picking to pick my husband up on the Thursday that Indianapolis was in the middle of a winter storm! He ended up being 3 hours later coming in making it almost 1am. We attempted to leave after grabbing him and realized we had a flat tire. We had our whole family with us. He was able to rent a car from Hertz at the last minute as getting a tow would have been hours!! Danaway at the Indianapolis airport location, you are a life saver!! I rented a car from Hertz at the Baum boulevard location in Pittsburgh PA. The Geico insurance company issued two payments to Hertz. Hertz charged me $555.90 without my consent. This transaction occurred November 12th 2021. I have yet to receive the $555.90 due to me from Hertz.. After numerous calls to Hertz customer service have produced no results to date, February 11th 2022. I rented a car on 2/7/2022 and returned it on 2/9/2022. When I picked up the SUV, they told me they would email my rental agreement. While I was still at the facility, I kept telling the rep I hadn't received the agreement. He told me it could take a few hours. I had to be in San Antonio for business so I couldn't wait. I didn't receive the agreement until the next day. HERE'S THE BAD PART... My issue isn't really with this location, it's just where we rented the car from. My issue is with the service we received after the rental car broke down, at 10:30 at night, in rural Pennsylvania, while it was 10 degrees outside. We called roadside assistances, obviously, after 2 hours on the phone, no help on the way, and no hope of any coming, we called my 75yr old dad to drive an hour to come gets us, at 12.30 at night. I rented a vehicle and I got my final receipt , and then they were charging me an extra 288 dollars , so I disputed the charge and my credit card company also saw my receipt and didn't pay it , so they kept in billing me , I finally gave in after months of them bugging me , they cashed my check 1-26-22 for the 288 and now they're still billing me AGAIN !! I used hertz to get home a couple years ago when my car got totaled in Georgia. I had a similar accident in South Carolina and expected another smooth experience. I called the local location only to be told that they don't do one way rentals. I went online and booked a one-way reservation with no trouble, however upon arrival I was refused service because the receptionist recognized my name. He wouldn't even check my confirmation number, simply refused me service because "We don't do one way rentals" I do not appreciate bein... read more

Although we made our reservation two days ahead, the car reeked of cigarette smoke when we turned on the climate control. I am asthmatic and had to ride for 3 hours with windows down and had to wear a mask as well as use an inhaler twice. I will never rent from Hertz again.

Worst ever! New Orleans Convention Center location employees are bullies and thieves! They knowingly give false quotes , tack on fees, and create bogus charges! SLIMY BUSINESS ALL AROUND! I called every week ( as instructed to extend my rental) suddenly I get a robo call that my car is overdue and I'm being charged with late fees. When I go back to the rental location the employees pretend they didn't speak to me and then a manager threatens to charge me an additional $400. for a "cleaning fee" insisting the white specs on t... read more

Bait and switch!! On the 8th of February 2022, I picked-up a pre-paid rental from Hertz in Phoenix, Arizona. After pre-paying $470.16 for the rental which included four additional taxes and fees, there were additional charges for the same taxes added when I collected the car. Even worse, the woman at the check-out line asked if I wanted to purchase fuel at $3.68/gallon which is cheaper than most filling stations in Phoenix.
