Couldn't get anyone on the phone without going through multiple hoops, made sure to let them know I've never rented before, asked what are all of the fees because I'm budgeting for this trip, only to get there to get the car and find out they needed an additional $500 to charge my card each time (picking up a car twice on this trip). So not only did I have to cancel my reservation the day of my trip but my entire trip. Cancelled a reservation weeks earlier and they still charged me for the rental. Refused to return the charge.

I hope someone in Hertz headquarters can see the comment I'm about to leave and revaluate keeping some of the employees they have at the winter haven location. Mike and another gentleman with an northern accent works there as well. I did not catch his name. They definitely need to be retrained. They have no knowledge about anything. Due to the limit of characters, the full story was unable to be posted. We waited in line. I had my credit card ready (we prepaid but for the deposit) and my ID and confirmation number. We are told they don't have any cars to get to the front, even though I booked weeks in advance. He tells me I can wait 3-4 hours and they should have a car ready. While visiting in Florida, I became ill and was diagnosed with Covid. Due to the severity of my illness, and the need to protect others, I had to change my rental car return. My wife returned the rental car a day early, yet we were charged several hundred dollars more because she had to return it to a different airport. We had to change our stay from an oceanfront hotel, and stay with friends close to medical care facility. Recently, we were told we should not have been penalized for being quarantined due to Covid. The absolute worst! I Returned a rental the beginning of January 2022. It was paid for through a claim while my vehicle was in the auto body shop. Was told a 50.00 deposit would be held ONLY! My account is still be credited and debit every week since I turned this rental in. My cc has just been charged again for $108 today! I was sent certified letters about having the car and not paying for it! Clearly it WAS an accident CLAIM! I rented a car from hertz through Uber Eats. Paid on time Every Week!!! My mom passed away a couple weeks ago and I asked them to give me 2 weeks to catch up because of the passing of my mom and they agreed to give me the 2 weeks, before those 2 weeks was up they sent a tow truck to pick up the car and I knew nothing about it, not even the location where I picked it up from knew about this, the tow truck guy was very nasty to me and handled the car very roughly!! Terrible customer service at all levels. Flight was moved due to winter storm Landon. Couldn't rebook online. Couldn't contact anyone at the local level to let them know of the change in arrival date because the local phone rerouted to the main corporate line. Main corporate line said there was a 5% charge--ridiculous!! Not willing to pay 5% of the $2,000 already spent on the rental.
