My car was in the dealership shop for repairs on 11/10/2021. I had to replace the original car after a few weeks due to an engine light coming on. On the Eve of Thanksgiving I was working and I shut the car off and when I returned it would not turn on. I called the roadside assistance number and the person was wonderful and explained she dispatched a person and the wait time was one hour. Just a heads up about Hertz Rental Car in Colorado Springs. My son is a first year cadet at the Air Force Academy. He is an 18 year old kid. He was picked up from the base to rent a car he had reserved. He didn't realize he needed an actual credit card. It wasn't specific on the website. His debit card wouldn't work. They said there was nothing they could do to help. We couldn't FaceTime the person at the store and use our credit card. They said they couldn't give him a ride back to base. On 12/23/21, I rented a truck from Thrifty @BWI in Maryland (owned by Hertz). We rented the truck to move some things to our son in Florida. I didn't notice the condition of the bed of the truck until I got it home and we started to load our containers. There was construction debris such as drywall remnants and boards. Once we arrived in Florida, I happened to notice that the front tires were dangerously worn - to the point the wire/cords were showing. Dec. 2021 in IL: It seems Hertz has an inherent practice of charging a "towing charge" on the final invoice, hoping to pass it on to the insurance companies. I made the rental as an open end rental, because my car was in the shop and I did not know when it would be completed; the Hertz agent was aware of this. February 4th I was needing my Rewards points #, I went to Hertz web Site and it was down at the time, I called the Number and all it was, was voice automated. Every option that I choice to get to agent lead me to an dead end, once I selected 0 to try speak to someone, it told me that was a not an option to select the other options which I was not looking for then hung up. I make a reservation on February 1st. today I was there to pick up the van I rented and guess what? They said they have no vans, but in the parking lot I saw about 20 vans. I ask them why nobody contact me to let me know about that if they have no vans to gave me the chance to find another car somewhere else and those incapable people from the Hertz office from Buford GA, didn't even bother answer my question. I was put into a vehicle that stunk of smoke. They told me they had nothing else. Their manager screamed at me on the phone while I was 9 months pregnant!

I had rented a car at New Orleans Airport for one day, I had left the car at the car return area and the gal at the booth told me to leave the keys and agreement and she would check it in. I proceed to take the bus to the terminal and flew back home. They have charged my credit card over $2,500.00 and have not returned it.

Do not rent from them! They added a second driver and drove up the bill after being told specifically that there was not another driver and don't add it. They then charged for a toll that did not occur. It was not driven on the tollway not did we drive though any toll booth. The counter person would not change anything. Would not even consider it. This is the 2nd bad experience with the same location. The 1st time it was returned after 1 day due to covid and a canceled trip. They proceeded to charge us for the entire length ... read more
