Hertz Oak Park, IL is racketeering it's customers. Over two hours to receive a car with half a tank of gas (I have photo proof of mileage and tank gauge). Time stamping receiving paper work as 8:15am. Inspection email time stamped at 10:21 am , Car was not in possession until 10:55 am and upon return of rental Hertz trying to charge for full tank of gas and Two extra hours. Zero star company is my review after 30 years as a gold Hertz member. On January 20,2022 I departed Palm City Florida with a 4 hour window to return a car to Orlando international airport. After driving 10 minutes, and about to get on the limited access Florida turnpike, the car electrically dies 500 feet from the entrance at a major intersection. Hertz is awesome actually Mr M***** is the awesome one he got me and my family a car and I don't have any credit and I haven't been able to get anything with my credit thanks to Mr M***** and Mr.s Mary at Hertz on I30 in Dallas Texas they made that happen for my family thank you guys so much. NEVER AGAIN! I rented and paid for a truck. I went to pick up the truck and they didn't have one. They offered me some little ratty car. I booked a truck for a reason plus my husband is 6'5 and doesn't fit in a car. The manager was rude and didn't give a **** that I was now stranded. I tried calling Hertz and was on hold for over an hour to only be passed from person to person. I finally hung up after the last guy could only say I am sorry but I guess they didn't have a truck. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ AGAIN

I flew to Tampa International Airport from Indianapolis International Airport on Christmas Day morning, 2021. It was there I rented a car from Hertz/Thrifty. My rental term was December 25 to January 1, and my total estimated charge was a little less than $700. I reserved and rented an SUV from Hertz. I reserved it for 2 days but returned after 1 day due to COVID. They charged me for both days and refused to credit the second day. This is a bad business practice especially considering how expensive the rental was.

Though service at point of sales is good. Can never reach customer service by phone. The pre paid fuel is a rip off. Had a day rental got the prepaid fuel then due to severe weather change had to cancel the driving portion of the trip and of course no fuel refund so basically paid to not go on a trip. This policy really needs to be streamlined - match fuel return with mileage use or something to validate consumer refund request.
