The employee I dealt with for a long term rental insisted on doing all business via text....and then stopped answering me. Landing me with $900 in fees for not knowing their company policies as they were not explained to me by their employee. Turns out that his office was closed because it was condemned, information that he didn't seem to think was necessary for me to have.
I rented a car through Hertz Birmingham Airport on Sunday (2/27). No issues with the employees at the location, they were great. BUT when I needed to extend the rental an extra day, my problems began. I tried to use the app like they "suggest" and it told me that they would be charging my card an additional $514 for ONE day. Hertz is a HUGE Scam! Go with any other company. Worst experience in my life. I rented a car from Sep.7 to Oct. 4 and DENIED all roadside service, along with the road protection. I noticed at the front desk, The guy added the services, and I kept telling him I don't want it, and he mentioned when you drop off the car it will be removed. VERY WRONG. Do NOT rent with Hertz. We rented a car in Economy category. The car was good from Dallas to Houston. But in Houston, the battery died completely. When I contacted the Roadside assistance, they opened a case to get an exchange from nearby airport location (Sugarland Regional Airport). When I took the car to that location, the representative told me that they don't have a car in Economy category, and they cannot offer me any other car. I would rate this company with zero stars if possible. I was booking online and the site said there was an error in booking that it did not process so I tried again and got the same error. Then I called the company and they said they would charge me a fee if I book through them so I said forget it I will do it online. Then when I went back to do it the reservation went through HOWEVER when I later checked my credit card they charged me twice so apparently the first booking did go through. Had a reservation for a car. The day I had the reservation to pick up a car I drove over to the Hertz office but they tell me they have no cars. No telephone call to tell me that. Poor customer service. They said they could deliver a car the next business day at 8:30 AM. At 10:30 AM they had not delivered or called about not having a car. When I called they said they had no time confirmed even though the Hertz employee told me it would be 8:30 AM. I just cancelled the order these people are incompetent.

Not reliable. Would not pick up the phone and the hours of operations is very short so it is hard to return the car to closed location and proof you returned it. Keep charging every day additional security deposit of $100 after $220 deposit. Horrible!!!
Rented a car from Dollar in Phoenix. Super busy, nobody checked car out with me. Just said, "how about that white one over there, keys are in the cup holder". I immediately noticed a cracked windshield as well as small dents and took video and photos before even opening the door.
