About this business
Hammett House started operations in 1969 after almost 20 years of "dreaming and planning" on the part of Mrs. LaNelle Hammett. Now, after another 20 years of "dreaming and planning" on the part of Linda and Bill Biard we bring a remodeled, yet similar, Hammett House. Our goals are simple. We want to provide our guests with fine food, expertly served in a restful atmosphere, with plenty of "Southwestern Style" hospitality. Our menu is neither extensive nor expensive, but everything we do...we try to do extremely well!

We used to go here in the 80's so we were wanting to see if it was still a good place to go. IT IS!! The food & service were great! We enjoyed visiting with Bill Baird who used to manage Golden Corral when we lived in the area.

I had been previously a couple of times and it was always great. Yesterday I was there and had to send my food back because the gravy had ruined my food. I could hear the waitress tell the cook that "they thought the gravy had too much flour in it" to which the cook responded "oh yeah, I thought so too"... yet it was still served. I was asked to order something else which took long enough that the other party I was with ate their entire meal and was ready to go, so upon receiving mine (the 2nd time) I scarfed down a little b... read more

Very nice and enjoyable atmosphere! The staff is pleasant as well. The portions are incredible, I had to take half mine home and had it for lunch today. Would definitely go back if I'm ever back in town. Would like to try the pies!!
