Hammett House started operations in 1969 after almost 20 years of "dreaming and planning" on the part of Mrs. LaNelle Hammett. Now, after another 20 years of "dreaming and planning" on the part of Linda and Bill Biard we bring a remodeled, yet similar, Hammett House. Our goals are simple. We want to provide our guests with fine food, expertly served in a restful atmosphere, with plenty of "Southwestern Style" hospitality. Our menu is neither extensive nor expensive, but everything we do...we try to do extremely well!

We drive all the way from Bella Vista, AR for lunch and we are never disappointed! Food is incredible every time! Soups - salads - main dishes - and the PIE 🥧 Do not forget the pie - if you can pick a favorite- it will be the one they put in front of you! Delicious 😋 Cannot wait until our next trip! 🤩🤩🤩
Always enjoyed dining at Hammett House while living in Claremore several years ago. Was in Claremore today for a special event and stopped in to eat the best-ever chicken livers. They were scrumptious! Everything was outstanding; food, service and atmosphere. Menu seems to have expanded with so many options that all looked delicious. Family-owned and well-managed restaurant. Very reasonably priced.

Great service, very friendly, attentive, & fast. The chicken fried chicken, chili, & sweet tea were excellent! But the chicken fried steak & the gravy were very disappointing. CFS was chewy/dry & the batter was burnt in places. The gravy had too much flour & no seasoning. We would go back for the things that were great though.
I watched a segment on the news raving about the chicken fried steak. Ate there Thursday and the steak was so tough you couldn’t even cut it...no flavor at all. The breading was weird...not like any chicken fried steak I have had before. The potatoes and gravy had no salt or flavor either. My fork was dirty with a big chunk of food stuck too it....thank goodness they gave me two. One other couple and a table of four came in after us and received their food before we did. This is my second time to go. I know I must have been in heaven for anything to taste that good I had to be in heaven. I had german chocolate pie first....that's all I needed it was so good but I didn't get it all ate. I was so full I waddled out. If you haven't been you have to go.....you will not be sorry. I will go again and again and again.
