History Established in 1999. Opening in Jan 1999 The owner took a building built by J. Paul Getty and A.K.Warren who started Gypsy Oil Company and was one the biggest oil companies of its time. Thus the name Gypsy , after a burlesque dancer of the day Gypsy Rose Lee . Taking a 100 year old building that had been abandoned and boarded up for 50 years , it was painstakingly restored . there was no water , heating or cooling and no water creating the Gypsy coffee house , it has gone trough several remodels as others try to imit... read more
