Like many others, I got this card for a birthday gift. I got to spend all but $7.95 on an Amazon gift card; the $7.95 is an account fee charged on first transaction. I saw that coming though and charged the full amount minus that number. Plus, to get to the funds, you have to give your social security number. WHAT?!? Green Dot Visa is using delay tactic's to frustrate customer's into giving up on collecting their own funds from cards they purchased by making things impossible to handle through customer service. I actually had to have a corporate guy call me and asked him to close card ending in ____ and transfer the money onto the new card ending in ____. He said no problem. Awful, awful company!!! I lost my card and promptly received a new one, however they started returning my direct deposits with NO reason or warning. As if that is not bad enough there is NO way to call and talk to anyone!!! Absurd! I wrote them on their CS Facebook page and they said they would respond within 4 hours and I have yet to hear from them. Ridiculous company. I will be closing my account and would not recommend them to anyone. No customer service!!!
not only is the card not working, cusomer service had me on hold fr 54 min. when my call was answered they could not help me, told me to call back, and hungup. thanks green dot
Horrible company. "Reloadable Debit Card" when my old mother inlaw she was giving a gift card. Now I can't the $40 off the card without agreeing to their data sharing practicing and giving them my complete identifying information profile including social and address so they can market me some more. I need a refillable card like I need a hole in my head. Horrible, horrible, horrible company!

Tashara said her boss was ***** but would not let me talk to him. Y'all have $275 of my money and I'd like it back. As it stands right now I'll never purchase these cards again and will discourage all my friends. Tashara is a cry baby if it upset her to talk to a disatisfied customer.
My son got me a greendot card and it was the WORST decision ever. When I enter my card number, it responds that my entry is invalid and hangs up on me after several failed attempts. In order to close my account, I am told to call the customer support phone number but I cannot reach a human due to the above stated problem. I tried calling their cooperate office and that number is automated as well. Do not deal with this company.
Worst customer service I have ever seen. I was speaking to a representative 5 days ago and she could not answer any basic financial questions about my account. I asked her to change the phone number on the account because she was not able to get me signed into my online account. I asked for a supervisor and she assured me one would call me back within 24 hours. I called their cooperate office to file a complaint with my account and it keeps sending me back to the main menu. I pressed 1 for cooperate directory and it stayed on a continuous loop and no directory menu ever came up. Their customer service keeps getting worse and worse.
