My mother purchased a card for her 4 kids and their spouses not knowing this card WAS NOT a gift card but a bank card. I did not want to register the card because they ask for SSN and other sensitive information. When I called to have a refund check sent to me, they said 1) they were unable to process that request at this time (then I contested that) 2) I needed a receipt to process the request (I told them I don't have one). I just started using this company and they advertise to have your money direct deposited to their company. Decided to have my VA Disability direct deposited which they received yesterday, however because they wanted IDs and pay stub they are holding my money. Customer service didn't understand several of my questions because they use a foreign company for customer service?!!! They freeze your account. Steal your money. How is this legal? If you happen to talk to someone they lie about everything. They are nearly impossible to contact.

Minus a billion stars these ppl are horrible I read the reviews and nothing but green Dot taking innocent people's money including mine. I feel that the few good reviews they have are fake put here by green Dot themselves to keep a good rating so they can continue to scam people. I purchased a prepaid card because if I wanted a personalized card I would open a bank account. Well hours after my direct deposit hits the card they blocked it so I now have no access to my money, saying I must have a personalized card and they cannot or will not release my money. They also said they sent me one in August of 2018 which I didn't receive anyways so basically I am not able to pay any bills or buy any groceries etc. This is extortion. Worst customer service ever. They really don't know how to answer SIMPLE questions. I have to walk them through simple steps which they even get lost. I have been disputing a transaction since November 2018, I don't know what other actions to take since they won't take any action to refund me the money which I didn't authorized.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAVE NO HAD ACCESS TO MY MONEY BECAUSE THEY DID NOT SEND ME MY PERSALIZED CARD IN THE MAIL THEREFORE THEY BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT AND REFUSED TO UNBLOCK IT SO I HAD ACCESS TO MY MONEY. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR BANKING NEEDS, THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER. 0 STAR RATING
