The TaxSlayer online tax preparation service requires signing up for this card to get their Advance Refund. Not only is the required minimum return to use this process not disclosed, but the Bank Account number they provided me, for some reason doesn't match what the IRS has on file. I triple verified the info. Now, instead of getting my electronic return in the normal 7-10 days via direct deposit, it is likely to take at least 3 month to get my return. If I was able to give just a millimeter of a star that's what it would be. Spent HOURS on the phone. I have been hung up on by the system. And no luck of actually speaking to someone.
It looks like I'm having the same issue as most with this crooked company. I was given one of these cards as a gift and I thought if I left a zero balance I could close the account. Boy was I wrong, I was still charged their monthly maintenance fee not even having the card a full 30 days. I tried to do the right thing and reload money to bring the balance to zero before being charged the monthly fee again. greendot is a joke!!! they must have a bunch of dopeheads working for them cause they cant mail a simple card with $1400 of tax money on it to the correct address. ive been dealing with this bs for a month and i still cant a real person in the phone!! Green Dot is by far the worst prepaid card service ever!!! Do not waste your time. This companys customer service is horrible I called multiple times and literally had to wait nearly 2 hours and a representative never answered my call! It's so upsetting when your trying to resolve a problem when they never answer and if you call multiple times they make you wait longer! I'd give a 0 if possible. Major issues! One, today of all times, I go to use my card after my paycheck was deposited, go to put in the SAME PIN I've ALWAYS used and now I'm locked out of my own money! This card and its system is something that I cannot even type on this website. This card was a gift to me for Christmas. I also had to give all my information and register the card. When I wanted to cancel the card, first of all, you have to go thru RINGS OF FIRE to even get to someone. Then they are overseas. I noticed that I had a -7.95 balance and asked for them to close my card and send me the bill for the 7.95. This card has been a phenomenal headache since I have purchased it. I only loaded 74 dollars onto it too be able too purchase insurance on a vehicle, but instead it's been one headache after another. The pun doesn't work on the temporary card, they outsource representatives from overseas, and literally nobody can help you. They tell you to use their app which doesn't have features that they claim it has. How they have such a high rating by the BBB, idk, but apparently the bbb may not be trustworthy anymore either.
This Company is the worst of all time. I got a card to use for an online transaction and it was declined, after calling customer service I was informed that the transaction was declined due to "unusual spending habits" and that I a request for approval needed to be submitted and it would take an hour.
