This company takes out a user fee every month even if you do not use the card. I wanted to close the account in January. They informed me that I would need to bring my account out of the negative and then it would be closed completely and the balance would be refunded. I tried to deposit just the negative amount and was told that there was a 20 dollar minimum deposit. So once that was done, I expected that I would get a refund in about 60 to 90 days maximum. It's bin about two weeks I haven't bin able to access my money from my income tax return I'm a single mother of three small children 5,3& 8 months old. I've bin crying so much cause i can't access my money at all.

Why does this horrible company have an A rating? Look at all the bad reviews. These cards are scams! SCAMS and CEO ****** ****** needs to go to jail. The cards are registered and then they immediately charge you a fee of $8 bucks. These are supposed to be gift cards!! Then they will charge you forever and you CAN'T CANCEL! Try calling any of the 800 numbers and you can't find the option to cancel. The only way you can get a hold of a living person is to try to report the card stolen. Don't Ever Buy A Green Dot Card!

I dont understand how this company has an A rating when every review on here is HORRIBLE. My tax return was sent to green dot March X XXXX. I was told I had to verify my identity by sending a picture of my I'd and social security card. After I did that I was told it would take 2-3 days to release my funds. 2-3 days later I call the customer service and I'm told that I could not be verified and my funds would be sent back to the irs. I have been trying to resolve an issue with these people since the end of March. Daily contact is useless. I was previously an Uber driver and had an Uber debit card, I moved and when I attempted to use the account, I realized the card was expired. I called GoBank and was told I needed to email them proof of my new address. At the time I did not have that, so I was told I could apply for a new card, as long as I used a different email address. Can someone at the BBB PLEASE explain why and how you can give Green Dot Bank/Corporation an "A" rating with ALL the negative reviews posted here - all of which indicating that this shameless company is STEALING people's money left and right??? I have been a Green Dot pre-paid debit card customer since 2013. I have never had any issues until now, and it is major. My current card expired in February 2019. This company is horrible. When i go to register my card it says it's already registered and I need to login. When i try to login, it tells me invalid userID and password. I've reset my password ******* their site and it still tells me it's invalid. When I called the customer service line, the IVR tells me that my card isn't registered and it transfers me to another IVR to register my card. That IVR tells me that my card has already been registered and it hangs up on me. It's impossible to talk to a human. Seems like fraud!!

0 Start / Negative if I could rate it..This is a rip-off. I bought this card as a birthday gift and i come to find out they charge a monthly fee of $7.95. When i called to get a refund they wanted a copy of my ID and my utility or lease agreement so i refused and they offered to have the card put on "ten down" and the monthly fee would not be charged but then the card would not be reloadable which is fine by me so i went ahead and registered the card spoke to a person and told them what the supervisor instructed me to do and... read more

SHAME ON GREENDOT!! THIS COMPANY FOR NO REASON LOCKED MY BRAND NEW ACCOUNT! WITH $500 IN IT! HOW DARE THEY HOLD MY MONEY HOSTAGE THAT I WORKED HARD FOR! I EMAILED THEM THE PROPER IDENTIFICATION THAT THEY REQUESTED. THEY UNBLOCKED MY ACCOUNT FOR LESS THAN 5 MINS THEN REBLOCKED IT! NO ONE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REMOTELY HELPFUL!
