Greendot will not release my funds to me. A lawyer originally sent them a letter to place a hold on my account to collect money owed by a previous creditor. The law firm and I worked out an agreement to pay off the debt owed and in return sent several letters to Greendot to release my funds. Several weeks later Greendot tells me that the funds are still frozen and requested my ID and address to verify my identity which I sent in as well. WORST PLACE EVER! I do NOT!! recommend this card or Green Dot; I received my Visa on May 28th. They say that I only had $50 on my card but I bought the card for $150. I have the information from the bank but that say they can't call the bank but they asked for all my identity info. I should not have to give them this info 3 times plus the automated line. They are scam artists and have put me in an emergency situation. They will block your account without any warning and hold your own personal funds. They are making me wait up to 45 days just to get my own money back. Everything they say are lies and the customer definitely isn't their 1# priority. I will be going to the BBB and Attorney General's Office asap. Green Dot is a total fraud! After disputing a charge / transaction on my pre paid card the money was put back on my new card but so was a hold or block which was supposed to be lifted once I sent in the documents that were being asked for so now here I am dam near if not a year later and still have no access to my funds that green Dot has taken monthly money out of even though it's supposed to be blocked and now because I can't remember my phone number they will not even help me any further . This company is a total scam. I purchased a $500 Green Dot money Pak card through Bi Lo grocery store Augusta, Ga. I logged on and attempted to transfer to funds to my daughter's Walmart debit card. I received a message indicating I needed to verify my identification. I uploaded a valid Georgia drivers license. 30 minutes later Money Pak sent a email stating they had suspended my account. Green Dot is the absolute worse fraud bank to ever do business with. Your personal information is not protected and easily compromised and I believe it's a inside job. When you call to file a complaint or dispute you are placed on long holds and get the run around. They are unprofessional and your issue is never resolved basically they rob people of their hard earned money. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!! This company is an absolute nightmare to deal with! I used their prepaid Debit card to make an online purchase with Sprint for $650.00 and because of a glitch in their system the order wasn't processed correctly and after three weeks of waiting for the funds to be reversed still nothing!!!!! They are the worst. Gobank (Green Dot) is fine until you run into a problem..like your debit card being stolen, which is what happened to me. The thieves managed to steal almost $1400.00 from my account by the time I alerted GoBank. We cancelled my card, opened a dispute and investigation and send me a new card in 7-10 business days.
