My girlfriend had her first paycheck deposited into a green dot bank account that I had. $703.01 was deposited on July 15th 2019 and disappeared the same day. I was issued an Uber GoBank Card a few weeks ago to use for gas purchases. TWICE I have tried to use the card at a gas pump and it cancels my transaction before I am able to pump the gas causing an $85 hold to be placed on my card. When I called customer service to ask when it would be released, they said it would take EIGHT days! The second time this happened and I called to let them know that there is a problem with the system if this is continuing to occur. The representative hung up on me. They have $1,500 of my money since April. I can't get a refund. They want receipts I don't have even thigh I have the cards and attempted to load them. Apparently I'm identified as fraud because we bought to cards. I am working on states attorneys office complaint Monday. Can't get a human on the phone. Green dot says they can't help.
I purchased the card as a gift card to avoid purchasing online with my credit card and they refuse to activate it unless I offer personal data, including my SS#. They seem to also not have a way to refund, which means they're stealing from people!!! I have no way to get my money back!
I cannot understand how the BBB could award an A+ rating to these crooks. Does the BBB not read the long list of customer complaints already filed? Is it no aware of the many class action suits that have been filed against GreenDot? The customer service is a joke I have filed three complaints with the reps in the last year and have never heard back from them. They flat out refuse to assist. They took the deposit from my Facebook fundraiser and then put a block on my account. And kept it there. 2-3 more business days is the standard response. The call center keeps making "internal emails" and still nothing. It's been over a week and this was my first deposit. They keep asking for a pay stub despite getting screen shots from my fb account with all the info and my drivers license and my passport. This company is a joke. I set up part of my direct deposit to be deposited in this account and they seized my funds, I found this out on a Thursday, its Monday now and they still have my paycheck?? I have sent documents to help them "verify me" they never see them. This is a total scam...... do not use these people...
ZERO stars. I only selected 1 to leave a review. Absolutely disappointed with green dot. No way to get a REAL person on the phone to discuss my matter. The card was purchased accidently, originally wanted a prepaid visa not this ****. Now there is money on a card that will never be used. Awful way to do business. If anyone has a way to contact a person instead of an automated message that hangs up on you please let me know.
Gobank is a scam and eventually you will regret ever dealing with them.
