If I could leave a 0 star review I would! It takes at least 5-6 minutes to get to a representative, then when you get one on the line they always want to transfer you to their supervisor, as if their supervisor has more authority then them. In reality, their supervisors can do as little for you as their front line representatives. You can never talk to anyone higher then a "supervisor". They put a "call back" in for corporate to call back... when corporate calls back they leave a voicemail (I'm at work so I couldn't answer) ... read more

I have been using Green Dot for years. No problems, until now. I can safely say, once resolved and I get my money back from them, I will never utilize their services again, as well as not advise anyone else to either. I've had a debit card with them for years that I get a portion of my paycheck transfered to. It recently stopped scanning from wear and tear. Called CS which said they'd issue me a new card. Ok so I signed up for a credit card thru green dot credit card online. I made a deposit from my pre paid card which I receive direct deposit for almost 14yrs I've used the same pre paid Rush Card to make a deposit of a total of 250.00. I received a email from my bank showing money was taking from my account and deposited onto what I thought was a secured credit card. Not helpful at all if you have money stolen from your card. They don't seem to investigate it when they claim to have fraud protection. I had money taken from me twice and never got it back. If they were to look into my account transactions they could see i was not even in the state my money was taken from, out of an ATM machine. A normal bank would have given me my money back the same day. I had over $800 stolen from me. That's almost 2 weeks pay for me. It has devastated me. And right before Christmas to top it off!

I have a Uber Business Debit card through GoBank. On December 6 I discovered my account had been compromised and was somehow used in Ohio when I'm located in Nevada. Approximately 300.00 dollars was taken from my account and used for gas in that state. I immediately contacted GoBank and disputed the charge. I also contacted the location where the card was used who help me identify that it was paid for by a card clearly not mine and was a fraudulent transaction. Somehow my account was compromised and my money stolen. I notified them the same day. 7 days later dispute denied. They did find suspicious activity on my account so they closed my account and sent me a new card. Without sending me my money back to me this is unethical. I have to file another dispute. So much wrong with my account supposedly now my email address not connected so they couldn't send statement via email. i had to deposit 250 for a secured 250 credit line been paying my monthly bills till today i decided to close this account with zero balance, they are refusing to return my deposit i made without a reciept?? i don't know what to do i am living on social security,,,they are keeping the 250 dollars deposit for free it looks like.
Wal-mart sells these as gift cards. They hang them by the register and no one understands how they work. Green Dot is IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. When I did they were incredibly rude and not helpful. They want to take ZERO responsibility with helping people understand how they are different. in fact, the operator stated, "if a purchaser doesn't know the difference between a prepaid debit card and a gift card, then maybe they shouldn't be buying them." I purchased a card @ Walmart for $500 to pay some bills while my bank account was going through recovery from identity theft. In order to activate I realized they wanted my SS#! NO WAY I would give that out to ANYONE online!!! The "customer service" was only an automated system-no human to speak to.
