I recieved a Walmart Moneycard and loaded $75. I activated the card and intended on grocery shopping the next day. I went to sleep woke up and went to the store. THE CARD WAS EMPTY. When I called customer service they told me to file a report and I should get a response within a few weeks. Mind u I have 2 kids n no money for groceries. Now today I got a response. I give them no stars. I clicked the one star because you cannot post review without clicking on a star. The numbers they provide you can not speak to anyone. I am still trying to get my 2018 tax refund. The IRS provided the account the money was deposited in and a 15 digit tracer number. The account is invalid according to Green Dot Bank automated system. All the numbers they provide is automated systems. I do not recommend this Bank to anyone.

I rarely send Green Dot MoneyPaks from Dollar General, but about two times out of four the number is never received into the MoneyPak system as if it never got out of the Dollar General System. Someone has the money that "just disappeared". Just not the sender or receiver. This is a system open to fraud and/or incompentence. Not from someone getting your number, but from the sending organization and from Green Dot employees. Had problems with greendot from day one!! Put a hold on over $400 dollars kept telling me to contact the merchant so I did just that and had the merchant email me a copy of what I was exactly charged for. Emailed greendot the proof only to get some of it back still missing $83.90!! This is a horrible bank unprofessional very rude liars thieves.. I WANT MY $83.90 RETURNED TO MY ACCOUNT ASAP.. I just recently filed my taxes with Turbo Tax, and requested an advance on my return. The advance was approved and I was told my funds were available. I was supposed to receive a virtual card to use my funds online, and then they were to mail me a physical card within 5 to 10 business days. I never received my virtual card email. I attempted to contact them, and they told me to wait up to 48 hrs, and then I would receive an email with my virtual card information. Green Dot Bank is a despicable organisation. Anyone getting a refillable debit card or any other non-traditional bank card should look on the back and make sure it is not a Green Dot card. They will mismanage or loose your money and do nothing about it. They lost all my money twice. The second time was because they reopened my closed and compromised account and put the money back into it. They notified me by slow mail so that by the time I received this troubling letter the money was gone again. Contacting them is impossible... read more

This company is an absolute JOKE, only the joke's on YOU, the customer, who put your cash in their pocket by purchasing a prepaid card from them.....I used my card to pay for a room at Embassy Suites and the hotel gave my card a $2 refund for an overpayment adjustment. Well Greendot promptly, and with NO warning, phone call, e-mail, NOTHING, placed a BLOCK on my card, making me BROKE, 2700 Miles from home. I've been with greendot for 4yrs loading and using my account with no problem along with paying all the unnecessary fees they charge In December 2018 through February 2019 my card was stolen and fraudulently used without my permission while I was away over seas out the country for a year I left for the military In January with no means of phone use nor service right before I left I loaded my card when I could to save up money for when I returned home in January 2020 only to realize my card was not in my possession and someon... read more

I mistakenly went to transfer money from my savings account to checking and by accident placed the money in a Green Dot account I had transferred money to years ago. My account has not been active in at least 10 years but it was done. When I went to reach out to the company giving them the information they immediately sent my response to a link that you have to put your account number in knowing I do not have this?
