Absolutely horrible customer service; I wish I could give ZERO stars! Trying to close my deceased mother's account and settle the balance. USPS tracking shows all required documents as received at the Pasadena, CA address however the bank refuses to provide an update, I have called multiple times trying to get a status on the account and my documents and either a) they hang up or b) I am placed on hold (the last time was for over 30 minutes before getting hung up on). Absolutely poor customer service. Called about an issue and all they could say is I don't know and wanted to hang up on me. Even after spending 30 min on the phone they bluntly said we can't help you and then hung up the phone. They need to be shut down.

I recently had the "pleasure" of dealing with green dot agents on a baaaaddd day... What was stated about them hanging up, after repeatedly trying to speak to someone with knowledge of the situation, them giving you the run around, not caring about your money is true... Spoke to supervisors who seemed to cosign the behavior like I'm doing too much asking about MY money. Long story short, i tried to transfer money from 1 card to another. I bought a card at a store and loaded $500 on it on ( ). I registered the card online and input the correct info but for whatever reason was told my identity could not be verified so I will not have full account features and will be limited to the very basics. This is not what I wanted, so I contacted support who convinced me to keep the account instead of closing it and getting a refund. Closed my account after recieving ach deposit from Virginia unemployment commission for three months of back pay. I was previously getting weekly unemployment payments. After getting email about deposit tried to use card was notified they had placed block on my account to send information verifying my id.
