Account has been blocked for a week due to a deposit that was made. After calling customer service for 5 days straight I was finally informed of ID verification that needed to be sent in. I sent in required documents and my account is still blocked !!!!!!! Whenever I call no one can give me any information regarding the block and they cannot provide me with a number to someone who can. Worse banking experience I have ever had, and looking at the other reviews this is a normal thing for this company !

I started a secured credit card account with green dot. I made my first payment with my checking account which was the only options on my online account. They had me send in bank verification info and kept claiming they didn't received it then after 4 calls and speaking with a supervisor they claim that they did received it. I asked for the account to be closed and was inform that I will receive my funds within 45 days. A scam company with bad customer service! Don't bother with this debit card. I bought a card for my son that he didn't use and I was told the account was closed even though there was no transaction history, when I told the customer service rep that that's illegal, I was hung up on. If I could rate them a - F I would.

After 3 weeks waiting for a replacement card, I was told to wait and am still being told to wait. Unacceptable to disregard the importance of receiving replacement cards in a timely fashion. A supervisor is supposed to contact me in the next 4 hours. Hopefully me and the kids won't be waiting on MY money much longer.

The customer service is absolutely horrible. The representatives read from a script that is very condescending to a customer. Their VIP status means nothing when an issue arises. If you lose a card, you have to wait 2 weeks to get a replacement. which is absolutely unacceptable when you have bills to pay. I had been a long time customer, but am now going to bank with someone else. They lost a customer.

Information on Greendot Platinum secured credit card website is false. It says the quickest way to pay your security deposit is in cash at a retail store, and that your card would be usable within minutes. I made my security deposit 5 days ago, and there is no sign of my money anywhere on my account. On top of that, no live person answers when you call their number, and I just get an automated loop to nowhere. They are a ripoff. Stay away from Greendot. They refuse you being able to talk to a supervisor. I have had my card over a year now with direct deposit going every two weeks without skipping a beat, including being laid off due to Covid19 and having my unemployment benefits deposited directly. I was trying to do a mobile deposit, money I could use, and they are telling me I do not have enough funds being deposited. I am like what???? They took my 300$ on a prepaid card and refuse to respond to payment or dispute as of this time.
