wouldn't recommend green dot to my worse enemy. I went to buy a green dot card and loaded money on it to pay my bills. It was explained that I have to go online to register my card and set up an account. I did just that. After submitting my information, the automated system said that they couldn't verify my information and said that I wasn't eligible to to receive a permanent card. GObank sent a Mastercard debit credit card with my name on it to my rental property. I never heard of GObank before. If the tenant hated me it could have been ugly.
This card is offered as a gift card at Fry's and Kroger stores. But what THEY DONT TELL YOU...is that if you load it with money and don't use it within a week they will garnish your funds for a monthly payment. We even called and told them we were not interested in the monthly loadable option, and THEY STILL TOOK OUR ENTIRE BALANCE. I've used several other gift cards and this has NEVER happened. BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Unbeknowst to the parents, my son and his friend tried to open a Green Dot account. When we received a card in the mail, we tried to contact the company to cancel the card and make sure there was no possibility of identity theft, but there was no way through the system to speak to anyone. Like other folks in these complaints, I would not give the SSN for an account we didn't want. It was nonsensical. they deceive and swindle Americans. they must be punished. They don't reply back to my mails. I made a mistake and got a Greendot credit card on Credit Karma. Green dot bank is scam. I haven't been able to reach them by phone for 2 months. Although I haven't used it. They paid $ 146 in July and $ 97 in August. I paid all my debt, but now it says on the online page that I owe 14 more. they then add $ 90 interest to this loan. I want to close my card, but I can't reach anyone. help me.
If i could give 0 i would. I can barley understand half the people on the line. They give incorrect information. They only apologize with no solution when i call and explain my problem. They lie. I was told my check would was issued on the 17th and when u call back they tell me it was issued the 24th after ive already been waiting since APRIL. Worst customer service and business I've ever received. Have called multiple times regarding undisclosed fees and requesting refund to be told they could only do one courtesy refund or would have to schedule a call back. Refused both options based on previous attempts and never receiving a call back and asked to wait on the line for supervisor and was DISCONNECTED ON. Received an unsolicited mail from GoCard with a card and request to activiate and setup a card. I am used to getting letters to sign up for pre-approved cards, but this mail took it to the next level where it appears that I requested the card. Calling the number on the back of the card was not helpful. The automated system had an option for callers who had received unsolicited cards and requested entry of the card number. That is fine.
