I cant't give less than 1 star, but would if I could. this company is a SCAM! the number on the back of the card does not work, had to search for a customer service number just to be told that they would not do ANYTHING! The so called "customer service" representatives are sooooo incompetent or lazy, wont answer questions, or transfer you to a supervisor! I had an account opened without my permission and they refuse to assist me in finding out the information used to open the account and when it was opened. I had already place a credit freeze on my account when this account was opened.
THIEVES. Green dot debit cards or nothing more than a scam to rip off the common citizen. They have stolen money from me plain and simple. It's terrible when I spot fraudulent charges on my account, call customer service while they are still pending and they tell me there is nothing they can do until after the scammers transaction has posted! I had to cancel my card, and it looks like I will be out $400. I. Glad customer service is so helpful to Chinese scammers... Thanks for nothing. They are fine until you ACTUALLY NEED to speak to a person or need any form of customer service and then you're on your own. The website is a endless loop of automated computer replies and you get nowhere. I was approved for a loan from the sba eidl, I've used green dot in the past but was unable to locate a previous card so i simply applied for a new one. My sole purpose for obtaining a new account and not using my other accounts was to keep my funds from the loan separated from my daily transactions with my other banks. Can't give this company less than 1 star rating, but I would if I could. I received an email to send in proof that I was the account holder for my checking account that I was using for payments and once received, it may take up to 10 days after proof is received to validate my information. I sent in the proof less than 8hrs after I received that email. 6 days later after the initial email was sent, they restricted my account for not responding to the email.
