I did not have a credit card and wanted to be able to do online shopping so purchased a Walmart Money Card that is through Greendot. I have had someone steal and use the card I had 3 times, this last time someone took over $200.00 and I filed a dispute which they denied and I know for a fact that I never drew these funds or bought anything online on 11/16/2020. We received a Green Dot card from a relative because they thought it was a gift card. Instead, this is a bank account that charges a nearly $8 monthly fee unless you put $1000/month in the account. Also, getting money out of the account is very tricky. There's no way to talk to a representative as the online support is all automated and the phone number is all automated. This is a horrible business.

They charge a monthly fee for prepaid gift cards their customer service is horrible I waited a hour before giving up on trying to contact them

Someone opened an account in my husband's name. He was using his identity to collect unemployment and using a Green Dot card to withdraw the money from an ATM. I called many, many times and was on hold for an average of 2 hours each time. When I did get a live person, we explained the situation. I even had the name, account #, direct deposit # and email of the person who was fraudulently stealing from unemployment. Absoutley the wrost experience with a prepaid card. I went on a trip to California and purchased the Moneypak, green dot card. loaded $180 on to it and was only able to use it once. They told me my identidication was not correct and I spent hours trying to contact them to resolve the issue. My (now) $148 is sitting in the account since October because I can not access the funds. While they are still taking monthley fees out and stealing my money. Complete FRAUDS.

Texting is ok. Your Product Support should be able to speak to the customers when you have a question to ask. Especially when it comes to the debit cards. Also, go check out Instagram because you have too many accounts claiming to be Green Dot Agents. You need to check it out.

I used Walmart money card for over 4 years. The good: It works for purchases and ATM withdrawals. Using it at Walmart gives you a small amount of cash back at the end of a 12 month period. The bad: Customer service is terrible. The representatives are only there to say you can speak to a human (if you can understand broken English). If you dispute a charge, they close your account. They are awful! You can never reach a live customer service representative! I have had problems and they never called back or even emailed me back and as awful as it is my money is on there and i need it i have a baby but don't even get one!!

WORST "bank" ever!!! First my account was hacked, they have zero security set up. I was on hold for 2 HOURS before someone picked up and transferred me which was another hour long wait. They told me the transactions were pending still so they just wouldn't let them go through and the money would be back in 2 days. I call back in 2 days and I'm on HOLD AGAIN for another 2 hours for them to tell me all the transactions went through!!! So now I had to wait 10 days for them to "investigate " ð???
