They changed the number on my credit effectively locking me out of my own account. Live customer service person didn't speak good English. She put me on hold for her supervisor for about 20 minutes before i hung up. She clearly wasn't going to get her supervisor. Beware of this card! They charge a monthly fee that quickly eats up and money on the card. Awful company taking advantage of parents wanting their kids to have a safe way to carry money. Dispicable!

Someone stole my identity and opened an account in my name. When trying to contact Green Dot about it, my wife was hung up on every time she used the word 'fraud'. They also will not let you report fraud if you don't have a card number. In other words, they are setup to protect and facilitate Identity Theft and similar scams to anyone with the proper ill will and willing to put in the effort.

BEWARE OF IDENTITY THEFT FROM THIS PLACE. SOMEONE TOOK MY MONEY BY HACKING MY ACCT AND REWIRING IT & I TRACED IT BACK TO THIS PLACE. WITH THIS MANY COMPLAINTS THERES NO WAY THEYRE NOT IN ON IT!!!!

They must not train the representatives all the same way or from the same textbook. I was called and told that if I paid the negative balance in my account my account would be unblocked and my card would be able to be used again when I went to go load the card to pay the negative balance it wasn't able to be loaded and then when I called and spoke to a different representative they said that my account was closed and they sent my stimulus checks back to the IRS.

Bought 4 visa debit green dot cards and put 100 dollars on each. Went to activate them online and it said can't validate at this time. Call customer service to activate the cards and enter the numbers and again it says card not valid. So I try and call to get ahold of someone to help be activate my 400 dollars in cards and it's over a 5 hour wait. I try and message a representative on their site and it says someone will get back to you in 15 minutes and they will message right back as soon as you send you message it waits ab... read more

Green dot will block your account and then treat you like an idiot for calling about it. They told me three different reasons why my account was blocked and none of them were relevant to my account now I can't receive my stimulus and returned to irs and I can't access any of my funds at all. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. There's three kinds of turds in this world, musTURD,cusTURD, and green dot

I'm not sure why this company has not been put out of business yet. This company is terrible. Their customer service is terrible. And they should not be so terrible being that they deal with other people's money. I'm officially moving over to a better company with much better ratings. I'm officially done giving these people my money!!!!!!!!!!
