About this business

Texas is the second-largest state in the United States. It covers more than 268,600 square miles. Spain was the first European power to lay claim to Texas and the state also flew the flags of France and Mexico before gaining its independence in 1836. Texas borders Mexico along the Rio Grande and embraces mountain ranges and canyons to the west; lakes, plantations and pine forests to the east; plains to the north; citrus groves, Gulf of Mexico beaches and low-lying alluvial plains to the south; and rolling hill country and cl... read more

Make public education a priority. It’s a disgrace for our state, our teachers, and especially our children.

This governor and his cronies are robbing our state's children of their future by continually raiding public education funding and denigrating public school employees.

I am disgusted with the way you and Dan Patrick have decided to align yourselves with ET. I am disgusted that districts have to levy higher residential property taxes so that corporations can pay less. I am disgusted that recapture money in school districts is being used for nothing more than a Robin Hood tax. I am disgusted that you place little to no value school finance for public education which equates to turning your back on our youth. I am disgusted that you and Dan Patrick have mismanaged TRS - a system that meant to... read more

Greg Abbot doesn’t care about public school students or teachers! #pencilsdown

Anti-public education. He's on board to cut education funding while diverting taxpayer money to for-profit charter schools, which often run with minimal oversight and no public accountability. Abbott also loves to champion the "Texas miracle" economy, even while being in support of policies which will have tangible negative impacts on the state economy. Consistently, Abbott seems to care more about campaign contributions for his party than helping to write policy which would benefit Texas citizens.

I am a public school special education teacher. I am tired of the state not paying their part of the funding and putting more burdens in the tax payer. The retirement system(TRS) should be reworked and if it’s good enough for teachers, then confess members should be in the same plan. When are public school teachers going to have a voice? You are not my voice!

Jade Helm conspiracy theorist. Waste of taxpayer dollars. Bathroom bill. Calls a special session because he hates trees. Wasting taxpayer dollars to the tune of $6 billion a year by not expanding Medicaid. Wasting taxpayer dollars $5 billion/yr by not closing the business tax loophole. Because of you, property taxes are higher. No support for public education. Keeps reducing the amount the state contributes to public education and wants to pass the burden to homeowners. Believes in gutting Teacher Retirement System. Teachers... read more
