Does not support Public Education or educators. He helped pass a law that made retired teachers' benefits go through the roof and they haven't had a raise in pay in over a decade. I'm a Republican, but I'm a teacher. I cannot support him or other Republicans who keep trying to run us through the ground. What I can't understand is, why do you hate us so much? We are good people who pour our souls out every day. PLEASE HELP us. Stop hating us.

Your disregard for public education and of current and retired teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and paraprofessionals is shameful.

You should be ashamed for what is being done to both teachers and children under your weak, WEAK leadership.

#Texasteachersarecoming. How about taking care of current and retired teachers? Put students and teachers first, not testing and your "friends".

We need a Governor who will fight for funding our Texas Public Schools and respect the commitments that were made to our teachers. Mr Abbott belongs to Empower Texas and therefore can only represent a few rich individuals rather than the majority of his constituents.

I am a 36 yr. LOYAL, veteran retired teacher under the age of 65. I never received one penny of my deceased husband's Social Security. I was a widowed mom at an early age of 34 and penalized , because I was a teacher. Now, YOU and your legislators want to jeopardize our retirement. I devoted my entire adult life to educating TEXAS students. I loved teaching and was content to work hard and be of service to my students with meager pay and benefits. Why do YOU want to totally ruin what is coming to public school employees? It ... read more
