About this business

Texas is the second-largest state in the United States. It covers more than 268,600 square miles. Spain was the first European power to lay claim to Texas and the state also flew the flags of France and Mexico before gaining its independence in 1836. Texas borders Mexico along the Rio Grande and embraces mountain ranges and canyons to the west; lakes, plantations and pine forests to the east; plains to the north; citrus groves, Gulf of Mexico beaches and low-lying alluvial plains to the south; and rolling hill country and cl... read more

You could correct some of the damage you've caused to retired teachers by calling a special session to address their healthcare problems. Empower Texans can't cover for you much longer. You know how many people are employed by the public school system. We're waking up, sir.

Promises have not been kept. YOUR legislature and especially that led by YOUR Lt. Gov. have turned a blind eye to the real issues facing public education by setting up unrealistic goals while glorifying vouchers and private schools. If the general public could just comprehend the damage that vouchers would do to the average family, much less those from economically challenged families, more people would be in an uproar. Keep lying and it WILL catch up with you and your administration.

Public school teacher and counselor for 31 years. It is pitiful the lack of support and funding for public education. #blockvote #supportpubliceducation

#supportpubliceducation #fixtrs I am a retired teacher who wants Texas to fund public education at a level that will be enough to meet student needs. As a teacher I spent $1,000 -$2,000 of my own money each year for 27 years to provide necessary supplies and resources for my students.

Please support public education as mandated in the Texas Constitution. The current system of financing schools including recapture is immoral. Finance public schools at 50% and stop putting school taxes in the general fund to use as you wish. We want zero tax dollars going to schools other than public. Support the few schools in crisis rather than pushing them into a privatized system. Take care of the educators who have given their lives for the 5.2 million Texas children. Stop wasting money on the over-testing and get rid ... read more

I am a Public school teacher. I have always voted Republican pretty much across the board but NO MORE! I will vote for Public Education Friendly candidates. Please stop and listen to what teachers are trying to tell you. Yes we would love a pay raise but do NOT want it at the expense of others with unfunded mandates. We do want proper funding for our schools and classrooms especially in rural schools where funds are low. We can not keep giving tests that are not appropriate for students or for the cost of them that is keepin... read more

As a society we invest in what we hold dear. Apparently, governor Abbott does not care about public education. I, and thousands of other voters, want to know what you plan on doing to fix our struggling system. And we'd like to see action before November not promises for after November just to get votes.

Texas' irresponsibility with money that does not belong to them is a true disgrace. Teachers fund their own retirement by paying into TRS, yet politicians took the money to invest in risky endeavors. Now its teachers' fault once again according to the governing body of this state. When will people stop blaming teachers, and realize it is the politicians, both past and present, who have worked to destroy public education. Teachers are just trying to follow the laws created by the governing body. Abbott is not a help to public... read more
