Im currently homeless but have a full time job, with good credit. I'm also a current member, and have been for years. I tried to apply for a limit increase, for my credit card, but was denied, because I couldn't show proof of residency.
Insanely inhuman!! A member for 15 years. Outstanding credit history and was hit with a drastic reduction in income due to childs fathers loss of employment due to Covid, thus a loss in a child support income. Unable to pay my credit card ****. No attempts to reconcile and work with me about this debt, instead pulled $2300 from my account on payday and they offer no hardship programs. After 4 straight years of auto-pay working perfectly, auto-pay STOPPED. Now I'm getting calls that I late on my payments. These guys wiped out my auto-pay. They want us to sign up again for auto-pay. Only problem, I can't get online access to my account to RESET UP my auto-pay. If I could give less than ZERO stars I would. They fraud alerted my GROCERIES ahead of a snow storm. HUNDREDS of dollars inaccessible for DAYS. Golden 1 will literally starve your family for their own protection of your money. They dont seem to understand that the money you put in the bank is YOUR money. We have had Golden 1 for about 6 months no and their online services are terrible. The system is no reliable. One day i have access the next day none. Their customer support number, is unreliable. They have set and reset your password, which only makes it worst. The representatives have no idea how to work their own systems. They constantly give you the run around, if i did not have to do business with Golden 1 I would not not, and i will never refer anyone to this credit union no matter what the issue. I was approved for a 5k personal loan. I went through the underwriter after submitting my documents. They told me next step would be Golden1 will deposit 5k in the savings account. After all said and done. They told me nevermind. I have been back and forth with management and reps. ** resolution and they still hit my credit with a hard inquiry. Terrible all around. Stay away from Golden1!!! Unless you are willing to ******.
I am a longtime member of this credit union and they recently added a whole new slew of fees including a charge to automatically transfer money from your savings account to your checking account and charging you five dollars for the computer to do it. This is a new fee they just enacted in May 2021. They are essentially charging you to transfer your own money back-and-forth between your savings and checking account which is absolutely absurd! Dear Golden One Credit Union Staff,I have never seen a financial institution based on scapegoating, disempowerment and blame quite like how your system seems to be arranged. I understand that COVID makes jobs more difficult, but I have been trying to open accounts with Golden 1 for over a month. I went into a branch and a banker told me I needed to sign up online for an account, which I did. To open an account they send two small deposits to your external bank account and you are supposed to confirm. To confirm they send a security code to your email, supposedly.
