If I could give less than ZERO stars I would. They fraud alerted my GROCERIES ahead of a snow storm. HUNDREDS of dollars inaccessible for DAYS. Golden 1 will literally starve your family for their own protection of your money. They dont seem to understand that the money you put in the bank is YOUR money. Oh, they will let venmo retry payment OVER AND OVER and charge you $30 each time. A $10 transaction cost me $210. So they fraud alert actual transactions but dont fraud alert the fraud. We have had Golden 1 for about 6 months no and their online services are terrible. The system is no reliable. One day i have access the next day none. Their customer support number, is unreliable. They have set and reset your password, which only makes it worst. The representatives have no idea how to work their own systems. They constantly give you the run around, if i did not have to do business with Golden 1 I would not not, and i will never refer anyone to this credit union no matter what the issue. I was approved for a 5k personal loan. I went through the underwriter after submitting my documents. They told me next step would be Golden1 will deposit 5k in the savings account. After all said and done. They told me nevermind. I have been back and forth with management and reps. ** resolution and they still hit my credit with a hard inquiry. Terrible all around. Stay away from Golden1!!! Unless you are willing to ******.

I am a longtime member of this credit union and they recently added a whole new slew of fees including a charge to automatically transfer money from your savings account to your checking account and charging you five dollars for the computer to do it. This is a new fee they just enacted in May 2021. They are essentially charging you to transfer your own money back-and-forth between your savings and checking account which is absolutely absurd! Dear Golden One Credit Union Staff,I have never seen a financial institution based on scapegoating, disempowerment and blame quite like how your system seems to be arranged. In the two months I have been making car payments with your credit union, each phone call and interaction seems to layer, and nobody seems to be in charge.If I were to find you $100 for each bad encounter, I doubt I would still make my point, but at least I would feel better about having to make constant calls, follow *** only to find your own employees ... read more

I understand that COVID makes jobs more difficult, but I have been trying to open accounts with Golden 1 for over a month. I went into a branch and a banker told me I needed to sign up online for an account, which I did. To open an account they send two small deposits to your external bank account and you are supposed to confirm. To confirm they send a security code to your email, supposedly. I never received the security code email. I called customer services for assistance with this issue, and they told me I should just "g... read more

I didn't know there's a timeframe for when a check has to be cashed when there is no expiration date on the check yet Golden One sent me back six checks as stale checks without even trying to cash five were payroll and one was a birthday check never had this problem with my other banks. I will be closing my accounts "

Bad credit union. Bad People. Bad processes. When they **** up, they **** **** behind their processes, blame you for their mistake, and require that you prove their error. Golden 1 will not own their mistakes and in my opinion they are a case study in why one should bank at another institution.Earlier this year, I paid off a loan with Golden 1. I have had 2 business in the last few years. one closed due to COVID but one managed to stay afloat. I applied and was approved for a ppp loan to support my business and my Hard working employees. The day my funds were put into my account I went into golden 1 to withdrawal funds so I can take care of business related expenses, only to be told that my funds were being held until I could prove I had an actual business something about ppp fraud.
