Golden 1 used to be great. I've been with them for over 30 years. But in the past two years, they have decided that customer service and customer experience mean exactly nothing to them. During that time, they have completely overhauled their online user experience, which has caused broken functionality on their website (some features that it used to have are still not fixed, over a year after their transition) and has made it extremely difficult to connect personal finance software to Golden 1 accounts. I switched to Golden One believing that as a credit union, it would be more consumer-friendly and not have unfair and unnecessary fees. BUT Golden One has become SO CORPORATE and ARE QUICK TO TAKE MONEY FROM THE LITTLE GUY. Very disappointed with their customer service. I had three transactions and although I had money in my savings accounts --the automatic transfer function was connected to my Savings 1 instead of my REGULAR Savings account. Recently switched all accounts, personal and small business, to Golden 1 based on decent online reviews (had previously been banking at ***** *****for 25 years). I have not had good experiences with Golden 1. They have been unable to keep track of very important fee payments as well as essential documents related to a vehicle loan. They also failed to complete the registration for my vehicle, which was their responsibility as lienholder. When they did finally complete the registration, they did so at an outdated address, all the while I was unable to obtain a parking permit for my neighborhood, risking expensive parking tickets. I have been with this bank for many years and they closed my account due to an unpaid credit card they also closed my grand son account due to me without explanation and a a lady named ******* told my grandson that it was my fault and she was so rude and should not have been affected and for my home would not put my daughter on the policy for an unknown reason and so rude ********** branch

I would not go to the YUBA CITY BRANCH for anything. I have been with Golden1 20 years and the last 5 years the customer service at this branch does not exist. These ladies are rude and do whatever it takes to do nothing. There is always a line and always at least 3 in a corner talking instead of providing customer service. Also if you don't have an ID BUT know your birthdate and mothers maiden name you can take 100 dollars out of your account well actually any bank and account and call in and cancel your acct with a text me... read more

Back in January this year I contacted golden 1 customer service to get more checks. That call was very very odd to me. The rep was asking me what the last deposit amount was for my direct deposit and full social, and my husbands deposit amount date was etc. Which never ever really been asked about. Which actually threw me for a loop because I was very taken back as I didnt have that available and had to log into my account to see. I went to obtain a business account with Golden 1. I went into the local branch and was told I had to come back with an appointment; the guy behind the counter was polite, but totally lacking in knowledge, which didnt bother me. He helped me set up an appointment.A week later, I climb into my car with my two-year-old daughter to go to this appointment. Golden One has been nothing but problems for the past 45 years that Ive banked with them. I constantly get locked out of my account, I get hacked, they dropped my credit score by **************************************************************************************************************** we could transfer money nothing, we couldnt even log into our accounts.
