I received a personal loan from Golden 1 and they very professional with my wife and I and I just paid off my loan and never missed a payment. Id do it all over again. *****
I have been a long time credit union enthusiast. When life brought me back to CA I joined Golden 1 and since have severely regretted it. They have no "sister banks" like anyone else nor do they work with anyone out of the ***********. This I learned when I attempted to move and needed to update my address for an auto loan. I have banked with Golden one for over 15 years and they were great until they funded the Golden *********** Since then, this bank is a complete JOKE. I got paid on the 30th of July and needed to pay rent on the first. Well, these scam artists decided to cash my check, CASH IT, then put a 12 day hold on it AFTER I paid everything!!?!?!? Horrible customer service and business practices. They keep falsely accusing ** of being late and charging us late fees, even after we sent them proof of them cashing our checks BEFORE due dates. They treat you like you're stupid and give you the runaround. They have no interest in resolving the issue, and just demand additional payment, even when they are wrong. Like other experiences noted below I too have found their customer service totally lacking any professionalism or intelligence. Their customer service representatives have no clue what they're speaking about, will talk over top of you while you're trying to explain the situation to them and then provide you an answer to a question you did not ask. Your money is not safe at this institution. Both my son and daughter-in-law have been victims of debit card fraud from Golden 1 cards. Their system is not secure and must be antiquated. My daughter-in-law was able to catch the transactions right away, totaling over $600. **** was able to reimburse her however my son not so much. His account has been debited slowly over the past 2 years without him noticing. Ive been dealing with Golden1 for only a few months now and they have got to be one of the worst customer service centers Ive ever had to deal with. They are beyond rude, Ive been hung up by one representative, yelled at by another. They never can keep their stories straight and when you ask a question they do not answer it they just beat around the ****. I definitely do not recommend this bank AT ALL. GO ELSE WHERE FOR ALL BANKING NEEDS.

As a 30-year+ member they convinced me to open a 27-** certificate and said early withdraw penalties would come out of interest earned. 24-hours after opening they said it will now come out of my deposit! So I'll be losing thousands of dollars after only 24-hours. Stay away from this bank, Monday I will close all accounts and try another bank.
