We had a great trip to China during November. We did the 11 day tour with Yangtze River cruise. All accommodations were top notch, food was excellent and plentiful, guides were amazing and the value was unbelievable. Our guide, Stone was the bar which all others will be judged by. He made our trip better than we could have ever imagined. Looking forward to another Gate 1 trip in the future.
If your trip runs smoothly, Gate 1 is great. However, if you run into bumps they will not help you or refund you. To make a very long story short, Gate 1 reserved my rental car in Italy in Bologna, although I was flying into Milan. I called them, they said they changed it. Well, we flew into Milan and went to rent my car and guess what? Car rental Agent tells me my car is in Bologna., reservation was never changed. Traveled the first time with Gate 1 travel to Thailand. Excellent service, awesome experience and met others who utilize Gate 1 travel 10+ times.
You really can't beat the deals on self fly/drive packages. My week in Italy was wonderful and hotels were very nice- better than expected. The town we stayed in was picture perfect in the Tuscan hills. We were central to all of the big cities like Florence and Pisa, but I found the small Tuscan towns to be better than the metropolitan places. This summer we went to Italy for 9 days, starting in Venice, then to Florence and Rome. Our Gate 1 tour guide was excellent. All of our expectations were surpassed on this trip of a lifetime. After our 9 days on land we added an additional 7 day cruise on the Mediterranean! Every detail from airport transfers to ship boarding was facilitated by Gate 1. We couldn't be happier than to have had a Gate 1 planned trip!
We are having an awesome time in Italy. Our tour guide, Viviana Bensi, is extremely knowledgable, professional but most of all personable and a lot of fun. We will definitely be back and use Gate1 again.
One star is too many. My reservation number is 1279012 and what this company has done to me is horrible. My partner and I had booked a trip to Greece in March. He died and I wanted to make it just me going. We had fully paid for 2, and by the time Gate 1 Travel finished, I would owe and additional $415.00. I paid for 2 and the single trip was much less.
