I've been on three Gate1 trips and have enjoyed every one. If you are doing the Southeast trip I hope you are lucky enough to get Karen Armagost as a tour guide.
I AM BEYOND DISGUSTED WITH GATE 1 TRAVEL! If Yelp allowed me to give no stars I would. I booked a honeymoon through Gate 1 Travel to Italy which is scheduled for next month. I live in Miami Beach and was terribly impacted by Hurricane Irma and am suffering major complications and my home was severely damaged. Be EXTREMELY cautious when booking with Gate1. I have traveled with them before and was very pleased -\-\ they put on great tours. However, booking, particularly if you are book air, is very different. We are traveling to Thailand and it takes 2+ days to travel there. We would have arrived early in the morning of our 1st tour. So, we booked and extra day early so we could recover before the tour. This required the booking of an additional day in the hotel. I just returned from the partially escorted - 11 Day Athens & Mykonos with 4 Day Iconic Aegean Cruise. I travel quite often and usually go with private guides and a customized trip. Hi everybody that is the truth of gate1travel. I ve been working for them after a selection and kick off meeting in Budapest for the river cruises between Amsterdam and Budapest. They only let me 2 weeks working cause after even doing a great job and get fantastic feedback from the tourist the company call me and tell me that I couldn't work there cause I was not fit anough (cause I were I bit fat). A group of us took the Danube Cruise; however, we had to endure the smell of raw sewage in our rooms. When we brought it to the attention of the manager, he brushed it off as it really was not bad. But then the whole back half of the ship started complaining. We could not use our rooms during the day due to the foul smell. When the trip finished, we let the company know and they admitted that there was a problem and stated, "we have been in contact with the builders." Never again! Have a family trip to Tokyo booked for $8,000.00. Due to the issues with crazy fat fuck in NOKO wanted to postpone. Was told have to take trip or lose 90% of my money! Was told if war breaks out then they will rearrange our trip! What if it happens while I'm there?!?! �lost a customer for life!
