We purchased a home in Tazewell Va location May 2018 and would NOT recommend them at all!! This has been the worse experience ever!! They sold our trailer we put a deposit on which was a lot model that had everything in it we ended up with one that had nothing, they gave me a check for some furniture but it wasn't equal to the amount that was in the other one that we paid for plus they charged me more for the other trailer that was ordered and I didn't realize it till we had signed the papers. Bought a home a little over 2 years ago at clayton homes in Athens the roof is springing leaks everywhere I'm getting mold spots on my ceiling even after paying for an extended warranty they sent someone out said it was wind damage and told that they won't cover it Now let me explain our buying process the woman who sold us our home no longer works there She pretty much took advantage of us being 1st time buyers she told us she wasn't supposed to favor any bank for financing but then told us what bank to choose 2 days after... read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company. From the sketchy sales rep who has no communication to the manager who could care less. Even the mortgage company has a hard time working with Clayton Homes. First we were told we could get a home in our price range that turned out to be way over our price range. When we finally got the information on a home that we were comfortable with it took weeks to get any thing done to get the ball rolling. The mortgage and title company had difficulty getting what they need... read more

If I could not leave a star I would have! I just had a Clayton Home built for me in GA a month ago and hardly a day goes by that I don't find another defect. I sen a punch list that was very long and keep sending follow up emails with more problems. Unreliable! We purchased a home in March. We were told upon delivery if anything needed to be replaced or missing to let Doug know. I have been lied to, Doug claimed the window panels needed were on back order and have been for months. Friday someone came back out to measure the windows to get them ordered!! The back door needs adjusting, another thing on the list. The door knob locked up today! It took over an hour to get in my home!!!!!!

Stay faaaar aaaaway from this place as possible..The communication is **** and ARE NOT EAGER TO SALE YOU A HOME AT ALL...or maybe they just don't care to sale to certain people..(I don't know what their problem is and don't have the time to try and figure it out)...So my husband and I will be getting our deposit back and will be taking our business elsewhere..We don't and will not be putting up with this kind of foolishness...we are still waiting on our refund and was told it takes up to 14 days..it's way passed 14 days..The... read more

If I spoke to my clients like they do, I would be out of business in a year. But they sell such a cheap product, and the demand is so high, they get away with being morons. I will not recommend them to another person.

I visited the Clayton Homes in Cookeville, Tennessee in February 2018. I was told I needed X amount of money to get into my new home, and that the process would take 4-6 months. I saved up the money needed and submitted my credit application on April 4th, 2018. I was immediately approved. After months and months of calling and emailing, I finally closed on December 19th, 2018. Clayton listed an estimated completion date of January 31, 2019. I wish I could say our experience was better but we started the process in Nevada, the sales manager at the time had us make a deposit of $500 when we chose the house, then another $500 to get the house started at the manufacturers. Both of these $500 deposits felt very random and had no attached paperwork or signing, the sales manager at the time just said "oh well that is $500 today to get started" and we didn't know any better so we paid both times (thank goodness we kept record of our payments).
